WYIOC - 28th October Meet
If I can get a babysitter at short notice, do you think I could fool the wife into coming out for a "meal" at your meet?
Its just over an hours drive according to TOM TOM, but I'm sure I could cut that time down a bit
I'll let you know how I get on
chris.

You'd be very welcome Chris - just have the passport with you
You'd have to get a babysitter as AFAIR officially the place doesn't allow young'uns to stay after 9pm...

'Our' Chris (Harryboy) has a Tom Tom, but his has learnt his driving style, and tells us that your particular journey can be done in less than 4 minutes, so you've no excuses, really.

PS. CU guys 2nite. Might be wearing a suit, so don't call me 'The Accused'.....
Won't be able to make it tonight I'm afraid. Long story short since I'm rushing around.
Helen travelling to work yesterday approx 8:30 on same Otley to Harrogate road she uses everyday. Farmer left mud in road. Helen aqua-planed on it braking before a corner. Car went through a wall, over a 2 foot dropped and rolled 5/6 times.
Helen is now in Harrogate District waiting for a pin to be put into her right arm (v bad break). Has a pot on her broken right foot and bruises and gashes all over the place. On drugs and comfortable for now but keeping everything crossed until operation is done and she's back home healing.
Testament to Mini's - all the crush zones, safety cell and side air bags did their jobs. If it was an old banger I dread to think. Had the car recovered last night and went back to look at the scene this morning - looked like something out of a movie.
Feel like going smacking the Farmer. So obvious it's his tractors that are dragging mud over the main part of the road in front of his farm entrance...

So sorry to hear this IAn. Can I just echo everyone else's comments, and wish her all the best for a speedy recovery. Stuff like this puts everything into perspective.
All the best to you both.

Another great night guys!
Had to go and hide in the corner with my Legacy courtesy car, and drift off 'slightly' early (okay - 10.50pm) as I've got an early start Friday AM, plus I was feeling a bit chilly dressed as 'The Accused'....
Al is gonna start a new thread on 'alternative' venues. I reckon a concert hall should be ideal, now he's got his Mollie Sugden hi fi set up....
Sticky mate - PM me about a bike ride any time.
Al 'n' Dave - next listening sesh whenever you're ready!
Catch ya soon guys!

Excellent turn out. 19 scoobs (including the Legacy
) and two from the Dark Side. Great to put more user-names to faces again.
New venue will have to be a good un to maintain the high standards.
Good luck Al.

Good to chat with you last night mate. I don't always look like a Scooby salesman by the way.....
Thanks for mentioning the Legacy, although I notice there was only a very short queue for test drives....
Least it wasn't WR Blue......

Agree with Chris & Martin.
It was great to see so many new faces. I hope you enjoyed the night and can make the next one..
Can I add that the change of venue has nothing to do with these new faces? Including the Navy..
(private joke) & Focus RS (Hi Chris
)
A new venue will be scheduled for next months meet.. the thread will explain the reasons and details and should be out today to give us the maximun time to plan..
Cheers..
