Honesty & Justice should be at the core of what our politicians hope to acheive for us - However with their heads so far up their own ***** they've nae chance of hearing us

The problem with Howard as the face of the Tories, is that Howard is the face of the Tories past. He was at the hub when the Tories self destructed during the 90's. And he's their leader now. What kind of a message is that? To me it sounds like its still an old boys club, thats still flexes its muscles within party walls, backstabbing each other in leadership campaigns.

The fact that Howard was voted leader and the likes of Hauge and IBS ousted speaks volumes on how incestuous the tories still are.

They are stale, you can smell it in every political broadcast.

The people voted in New Labour, yet the opposition is still OLD conservative - you know, the same ones that got one hell of a spanking not once but twice. So whats the USP of the next campaign? 3rd time lucky? LMAO

I doubt they bother using their vote anyway.

Those who are desperate to get Tony out, do you think voting Tory is a wasted vote?

What about todays Halewood by-election, the Tories were beaten into 4th place, the worst result by an opposition party since WW2

Results

Iain Wright (Lab) 12,752 (40.66 per cent)

Jody Dunn (Lib Dem) 10,719 (34.18 per cent)

Stephen Allison (UKIP) 3,193 (10.18 per cent)

Jeremy Middleton (Con.) 3,044 (9.71 per cent)

It doesn't look too good does it? Until that is you realise that it has been a Labour 'safe seat' for decades and decades. Their majority has been reduced from 14,200 odd to just 2,000. It's also worth noting that the Tories came second here in the last General Election. I don't think it's worth reading too much into a By Election result in such a place. It certainly does not represent the split nationwide.

Hartlepool

1997 - Tories 21% of the vote
2001 - Tories 21% of the vote
2004 - Tories 10% of the vote

I agree that by-elections are never good indicators, but the Tories will not be happy with 10% of the vote no matter what.
