So anybody gonna invite the Dutch. They would be absolutely amazed at the twisties and the hills for that matter. Their poor cars wouldnt know what had hit them. I am definitely up for this one. Now gotta convince the partner that she doesnt wanna go somewhere hot on hols but go convoying through Europe in the car. LOL

oh dear, I'm buggered then if I've still got my classic!
116 db at the last rolling road
although they do keep letting the evo staff writers in with the zonda s and ferrari's in tow, they must be much louder than our puny 2Litre engines

It would be helpful if you had the homologation papers for the exhaust system with you. I know JoBlack was stopped outside Lausanne and they checked out his rather thoroughly and IIRC it was thanks to his papers that he got less hassle.

General driving info: http://www.driving-abroad.info/driving-in-switzerland
and some more details here http://www.ideamerge.com/motoeuropa/guide.html
I was trying to find something more specific about the exhaust but can only find the rules for cars registered in Switzerland (which have to be checked every 2 years, have a sticker on the car to prove this and carry the emmissions test document in the car). This latter thing may help you Chris, if you have the current MOT with an emissions printout that may be sufficient. As for noise I cannot find any rules
One thing I did note, you need High Visibility Vests in Italy. I will take my Railway one but you may need to get hold of some green ones.

Do you really want to trust your pride and joy to a car transporter?
Surely the point of this week away is the driving there and back itself and the friendship building oppurtunities that will come.
Would probably work out cheaper, especially with wear & tear factored in, but I for one am looking forward to the whole driving experience.
chris.

Well i would trust my pride and joy to a car transport aslong as I was driving the transporter. LOL. I am looking forward to the whole trip aswell. Mind saying that imagine how much cheaper it would be no fuel costs to talk of no toll road charges no silly Swiss Laws to worry about and not having to worry about break downs or speeding fines LOL. Can I just ask one major question. That is bothering me and will make me sound like a right old get. but when we convoy it down can we set the speed at a sensible level and not a mad *** rush. I cant afford the engine to go bang or the fuel costs at much over 80mph. Does that sound a reasonable request.
If we make it a overnight on the way down maybe we could meet up with local Subaru Enthusiastsa dn have a right good night.

Your kidding aren't you? Do you really have neons on your scooby
Oh dear! Your right by the way, your going to get slated m8
Apparently, if your cars has any neons whatsoever in france, germany, switzyland or anywhere on mainland europe, the authorities have to perform a FULL BODY SEARCH!
chris.
ps, I dont really know the true laws!

My thoughts exactly - I think a top speed trial is in order on the Autobahns - it would be rude not too
Maybe we could liaise with the local plod for them to get us on their speed guns for accurate speeds

No worries Guys
Hopefully it all look alright to you.
Look forward to receiving replies from you all.
Cheers
Terry
ps - I dunno about you guys, but I can lap the Nurburgring in 7.47 in a Ferrari Enzo.... on Project Gotham Racer 2 on the XBOX. But GT4 is due out on Wednesday and that is supposed to be even more realistic.
