'I do think that armed (and unarmed) robbery is covered'

So if someone approaches you off the street and says, give me your car keys, I'm just meant to hand them over to him??? Fair enough if hes got a knife pointed at my throat but just handing them over is giving a full green light to the scum of society.

And I'm sure any insurance company would question me just 'giving them' my keys without a thought. PLUS I'd lose all my no claims and my insurance would double for the next year

Well, to be classed as robbery, I think there has to be at least some kind of fear of violence (or similar) involved. Thus, if you felt threatened to give him the keys, it would be robbery and covered by your insurance.

TBH, if some big ****** walked up to me and said give me your car or I'll <insert something nasty here>, then I'd probably give him the keys and hope he takes the car without doing said things to me... it's just a car after all and i'm not going to be killed/injured over it.

Having said that, it does make my blood boil when I read threads about car-jackings and anti social behaviour in general... One of the reasons I would like to become a copper, try to make a change to society

I agree on this, that would really sting my wallet too, and it would totally suck However, what good is no claims when you can't drive because you've got broken legs or are dead or whatever?

Then again, I don't actually know how I'd react until I was in that situation, but I don't think I'd be the big strong guy... probably more like the big chicken hehe

You might be surprised by your responce. People can respond in unexpected ways when they are suddenly droped in one of these situations.
Logic and common sence may not be your first thought.
