BMW X3

I wouldn't let it bother you. I could be labelled a Chav, Chelsea Tractor driver or Fast Lane hog depending on which car I'm driving and whilst I agree with you to some extent about stereotyping, it's been my experience that very few people actually need a 4x4.

Tiggers no I wouldn't have one because I don't like the bmw 4x4's, i'd have a Toyota or Mitsubishi 4x4 if I was to get one.
Its fine not to like a car for its style and how it drives, its called personal preference, I just find it so sad to slag a car off because of its alleged image. Like I say having previously owned a BMW and now having a scoob according to scoobynet the type of person I am changed overnight just through car ownership
People still slag Skodas off ffs, well they have no idea what they are talking about as having driven the Octavia RS Turbo its a fantastic car, both performance and build quality, and would be high on my list for a replacement to the scoob. Couldn't give a toss about the badge, I know its made by Audi and its a quality car.

Q Why a softroader?
A :-
Most handle well enough for the average driver. Some handle very well indeed.
Easy to drive and manoever
High and commanding driving position = great visibilty = safety benefits and much more relaxing to drive in traffic
Can be parked anywhere
No more kerbed alloys
Great road presence means white van man/taxi drivers etc don't take the ****
Most occupy no more road space than comparable saloons
Good in adverse weather conditions
Generally much better looking than your average MPV
You don't need to drive up mountains to get the benefits of driving something with more off road ability than your average car.
Essential kit for those following forrest rallying
I had the Scoob stuck in places/ conditions that the old company RAV4 didn't have a problem with due to tread patterns and ground clearance.
Would much rather have and X5 than a 5 series, X3 than a 3 series, etc.
