Sounds like Jon has found some 1028 eproms, which are what the ECU was designed to take. If the map is anything like mine it should work fine, I would at least find out what sort of boost target it runs, sensitivity to fuel etc.
Knocklink adviseable still, not a bad idea on a standard car even of that age as they were designed to be run on 98RON SUL no the 97 we currently get.

Update for all those WRX Wagon owners that thought this GB might be the light at the end of the tunnel (as I did). Spoke to Jon today and he doesn't have a map for import wagons
David, Pavlo
I know the idea was bounced around a few months ago, but any chance one of you would be willing to develop a map? Last count there were about 15 import wagon owners up for one plus several volunteer guinea pigs to help test a map, I reckon if we got something solid together you would probably get more orders than that.
Or is there still a supply/time shortage?

I have a good ScoobyECU map, for a TD04 wearing JDM wagon of the MY94 vintage. 17 PSI peak boost, aggresive spooling but no fuel cut.
If the developer doesn't object, I could ask for it to be forwarded to some one who could burn EEPROMs of it?
Got me 256 bhp / 256 lbft at well lane a few weeks ago ... TD04 was limiting factor then.
Let me know and I shall ask if they will allow it.

I thought Jons map fitted all cars? Seems like it doesnt matter if its a TD04 or TD05, uk or import, so shouldnt his map work on wagons?
Seems like people are crying out for scoobyecu or any ecu they can put in their import

Seems to be a lot of questions...
I havent really seen any comments from CustomScooby about some of the issues that people are having?
Can CustomScooby shed some light on boost, fitting, and some of the problems that Pavlo mentioned?
e.g...overboosting etc???
Oh yeah, how do we pay?
Just as im off to Turkey this weekend and wont be able to reply again until i return.

At least less "risk" for you guys to try it than the average go faster punter / JDM owner.... and plenty of spares to hand!

David, have you tried out the VOS chip?? I would be very interested in the results of that.
I have one and was thinking I would like to RR the car with it and without to see the difference, and see if it solves the fuel issue too as it's supposed to.

You could still do a before and after VOS / Scoobyecu / customscoobyiom ecu upgrade if you run wih it and then disable / remove it ... should be 1 simple wire to join.

Sure I read it on here somewhere that someone had taken a VOS apart and found that ...

Just been reading the topic and wondered how to put my name down for one. Can only get 97 ron fuel from miles around where i live, could be an engine saver for me.

v.interesting thread....
Strange that there's no Wagon map yet tho'
Pavlo, David, surley you must have a Wagon map by now, as I must of done at least 5 wagon variations with good results, no det, no limp home and about 15psi.
Now where did I put that map....hmmm...shame.....I seem to of mis-placed it
Oh well at least no-one can rip it off !!!!!!!!!
It's amazing what you can do with a Eprom reader, Hex Edit and a handfull of 27C1028's. But hey isn't that how we started ????????
Are they coming from Alex in Aus by any chance, as I'm after a few of blanks ??

27C1028 chips went obsolete in the early/mid 90's hence the reason to emulate them with the adaptor.
I did manage to locate a batch of 27C1028's through another member and he shipped them to me from Aus. However as these chips are now very old and have been lying around for some time, I was finding that some would not program/read or even work as expected. Hence this was another reason why I pulled the plug at the end of 2003. Although David and Paul continued with the ScoobyECU adaptor.
Therefore the use of the name 'ScoobyECU' by CustomScoobies is not strictly correct, as it appears they are supplying 27C1028 chips.
When I started using 27C1028's, which was for about 50 of the 85 that I sold. I changed the name to 'ScoobyChips<96' and advertised on the ScoobyNet shop as such.
As mentioned above I stopped this late 2003/early 2004 so please don't approach me expecting any maps or hardware for your ECU

Thanks for the info, jon has said that the chip is his own and not a scoobyecu or a variation on one. So i haven't got a clue where they've come from.

This is a product that everyone wants, yet the best results must surely come from mapping the individual cars.
Can anyone do that?
