jon from custom scoobies has developed his own ecu upgrade, aong the lines of the scoobyecu/vos chips. (as in plug in second solt and cut resistor)

They are £120 on there own, but as this is a group buy, they will get cheaper with numbers. We already have 8 from SIDC so the price is down to £100 already, i will see what sort of price it will go to as numbers increase.

As this is my 1st group buy i have done, it is best to contact jon with questions, and probally send your money/cheques etc, straight to him.

One for me - 94uk with full de-cat (td04 I beleive, please correct if not!)
One for my dad - 96uk with full de-cat (once again, I beleive this is also a td04)

I hope it goes well for Jon, more importantly I hope it goes well for everyone buying from him, and that he is able to sort out the problems with relentlessly detting cars, overboosting, underboosting,, running lean and all the other problems one faces with cars that are supposed to be "the same".

Jon has had at least two scoobyecus from me (third direct to someone else) in the past 3 months or so, now he has his own, hopefully he has improved a few of the annoyances of the scoobyecu (ease of repair, 2 eeproms per board etc)

All you need to map these ECUs is a hex editor, but without at least a Select monitor or some other device, you will not know where to change the maps.

I don't think there is anything paticularly dodgy, but I have seen all sorts of mapping done on chips llike these. Japanese so called tuners get away with murder for instance, some of the stuff I have pulled from imports is pretty scary.

Perhaps Jon can shed some light on exactly how he has mapped them.

My thoughts exactly Paul.

Quite different map needed for TD04 and TD05 ( I know ... I had trouble getting a good TD04 map for ScoobyECU ! ) and seems to be significant differences in code / locations for different series of OEM ECU's, so 1 chip may not fit all.
Look at all the cars on the list that are all the same ...... ;)

Gonza - yeah these can be "re-mapped" but you would need to pull the chips and send back for re-writing ... unless Jon can custom map in situ?

I was going to go for the custom mapping of my ScoobyECU ( With Pavlo ) but now considering a Power FC ... :)

Maybe I should just buy one... It'll save me a few evenings bothersome mapping ;)

550cc injectors, Hybrid FMIC, FSE (or should that be FFS) reg, walbro 255l/hr pump, 3 bar MAP sensor, induction kit, decat, soon-to-be-ported headers, soon-to-be-front entry TD05...

It runs but isn't quite right yet. Oh well , I ought to stop buying other cars and finish this one...

so we are going to have 2 lists just to keep track of every one!

In response to a few comments on this thread, I have put down for myself and Delboy for one, however, being UK's i'm hoping that this map will work ok for us as it seems the majority are for imports. Is this going to cause any problems or would it be worth waiting for Scoobyecu for the UK's????
