I found the coin holder/ash tray on the driver's side by accident, comes in very handy when I need £1.20 to go through the Mersey tunnel.

You can get the cupholder assembly from a Subaru dealer, they're not that expensive.
You can remove the dash top bin by just removing the screw covers carefully and undoing the screws. The cupholder should bolt in at the back, but there's a bloody great scaffold pole in the way, so just use the two bolts at either side, it will easily hold a decent size cup.

What a stupid place to put cup holders (pullout tray over stereo on my import WRX) last thing u want is sticky coke leaking down cup onto ur stereo , i've change my console for one with clock instead of cup holder

what about the child locks on the 4 door uk and maybe jap cars? open the rear doors up and have a look around, they are there, And what about the centre console/arm rest lid for a 93-97 my car which looks similar to a 98 my cars. What about the blank on the uk cars were the air con switch goes? take it off and you can fit an air con switch to make you look like you have air con.I have the switch but have been sad enough to put it on,YET.One thing that I dont like though is that the jap cars have a nice plastic storage space just below the ash tray, and we have a blank which can not have this placed in due to an abs module.

to do with the boot opener inside the car!
one way you can use the remote opener, the other you can't and need to use the key in the lock!

I was just about to ask about the spare cables under the dash!
iirc there's a green pair a black pair and a big grey on on the left, which might fit into the bigger black connector thats centrally under the dash.
Does anyone know what any of them do?

the two black connectors join together, then if you turn the ignition on , it gives you the engine code errors if any
The grenn & black together do an ecu reset (afaik)

Nice to know, ill have a go with that next weekend then
Theres nothing wrong with doing an ECU reset is there? Want to make sure mines mapped itself properly for Optimax.

Just bought a very early classic wrx
Wow - was also wondering why the board was so loose - will fix this over the weekend!
Cup holders - mine has two, but now that I have it fitted flush with the dash it won't open over the stereo surround - any ideas????

This is for the ECU reset, not sure what green to black does.
