What about heated wing mirrors?
Did anyone ever find out if there is an element in place that just needs wiring up on an uk MY99

Shat it u still think they'd be on the switch rather than full beam, wouldnt mind betting a copper would try to pull u if he saw them on... yet at the same time I wouldnt really have a choice if I wanted my full beam on.

hows the RB5 doing for you

does that try come out easily then? what are the fuses are behind there for?

To be sensible, I've never seen heated mirrors on an imported Subaru. the wires will be for the electric motor for fold back jobs I think.

What's this? Will you show us all these nifty hidden features on Thursday?!

I found the coin holder/ash tray on the driver's side by accident, comes in very handy when I need £1.20 to go through the Mersey tunnel.

You can get the cupholder assembly from a Subaru dealer, they're not that expensive.

You can remove the dash top bin by just removing the screw covers carefully and undoing the screws. The cupholder should bolt in at the back, but there's a bloody great scaffold pole in the way, so just use the two bolts at either side, it will easily hold a decent size cup.

what about the child locks on the 4 door uk and maybe jap cars? open the rear doors up and have a look around, they are there, And what about the centre console/arm rest lid for a 93-97 my car which looks similar to a 98 my cars. What about the blank on the uk cars were the air con switch goes? take it off and you can fit an air con switch to make you look like you have air con.I have the switch but have been sad enough to put it on,YET.One thing that I dont like though is that the jap cars have a nice plastic storage space just below the ash tray, and we have a blank which can not have this placed in due to an abs module.

BTW the cup holder is designed to hold small and large cups.
Pull it out to the first click, for small culs. Pull it out to the second click and its for large cups

wot about the little lever on the boot latch.........

to do with the boot opener inside the car!

one way you can use the remote opener, the other you can't and need to use the key in the lock!
Ahh the cancel handle!

I was just about to ask about the spare cables under the dash!

iirc there's a green pair a black pair and a big grey on on the left, which might fit into the bigger black connector thats centrally under the dash.

Does anyone know what any of them do?

the two black connectors join together, then if you turn the ignition on , it gives you the engine code errors if any

The grenn & black together do an ecu reset (afaik)

So not the green and green together?

Nice to know, ill have a go with that next weekend then

Theres nothing wrong with doing an ECU reset is there? Want to make sure mines mapped itself properly for Optimax.

Depends what age your car is! If it's a phase 2 Classic, Bug or Blob then the ECU will set itself for Optimax

Thanks for the info, I'll have to take my boot floor panel out and see if that gets rid of that knocking noise coming from the back. Hopefully it is this, otherwise something else is loose or I need new dampers.

Just bought a very early classic wrx

Wow - was also wondering why the board was so loose - will fix this over the weekend!

Cup holders - mine has two, but now that I have it fitted flush with the dash it won't open over the stereo surround - any ideas????

Ignition only to Phase II

This is for the ECU reset, not sure what green to black does.

Roo MY99 Classic wagon with all the sparkly extras including two yes two cup holders and a bright light no less - I feel priviledged
