Calling someone a "Labour voter". Its an insult like "You're a pikey" or "You scramble through bins trying to find some old KFC Hot Wings for your dinner you Chav underclass scum".

Its true.

"Are you thick....then Labour is for you". Hence most of this country vote for them.

New Labour are not as bad but still. Putting your cross in the labour box proves you're a un-educated halfwit who likes:

1. Masses of immigrants.
2. Obsession with 'PC' (that causes more tension than it resolves).
3. Speed camers.
4. No standards.
5. You accept that "if you earn more you should pay more for a like service".

Peasant-ville.

What are the current unemployment figures???
What were they under Tory??
During the years 93 to 97, claimant count was falling at approx. 350,000 per year, around 97-00 it fell at around half this (180,000 per year) and since 2001 has been virtually static (around 15,000 per year).

Actual figures were 1.5mill under Tories falling fast, 1.0mill currently under Labour static (all the above are based on a consistent statistic)

How many homes have been repossed in the last year due to negative equity??
How many were repossed under the Tories??
I don't have these figures, but like for like (i.e. last year for Labour, 1997 for Tories) I suspect the figures are similar. If you dig further back you will find many reposessions after the housing crash '89-'92 but then if you dig forward you will find many reposessions from the housing crash Labour are just in the process of setting up for us.

What currently is the interest rate??
What was it under Tory???
From 93 to 97, the Bank of England base rate (which I assume you are referring to) varied from 5% to 6.7%; when Labour got into power, it went straight UP to 7.5%. Since Labour relinquished control to the Bank of England, it has fallen and is currently 4.5%, although this has more to do with the state of the global economy than any political influence.

What is the current inflation rate??
What was it under Tory??
From 93 to 97, the average inflation rate was just over 2.5% and is now averaging around 1.7%, note that the latter is below target and considered a "bad thing" for the economy if it remains at that level.

As you can see, Labour inherited a strong economy from the Tories, rebuilt through a difficult period after it was totally destroyed by Labour in '76-'79. Labour then continued Tory economic policy to get us where we are today. The only "credit" for the performance of the economy for the present government goes to Gordon Brown who gave the interest rate control to the BoE, a good decision.

All this is, of course, just MHO
