Let's see, and in no order of preference either.

Ronin
The French Connection
Taxi
Taxi 2
Bullit
The Transporter
Duel
The Fifth Element (ok, so not a 'car' chase as such, but they are flying cars)

What about the formation driving of black Porsches headed by the wide arch, big winged turbo 911 in Condorman?

Anyone seen it - Micheal Crawford at his lowest eb!

I quite liked the chase in Taxi 2 (French film). 3 Evo 6's chasing a done up Peaugeot 406 around the streets of Paris.

Yep, Frankenheimer & his stunt co-ordinator pioneered it for this film, his stated intention at the time it was released was that he wanted to create the best car chase ever My kinda guy

One of the best parts is watching De Niro's terrified face whilst the 406 is getting hooned around Paris. Natasha McElhone in the 'M5' (ajm, I thought it was a fake too) seemed to be really enjoying the experience though

Best chase ever has to be the little Mini in the Bourne Identity.

anyone watched the "making of" on the Ronin DVD?

pmsl @ audi stunt driver sat in boot with tv screen and natasha mcelhorne's driving double - a very short fat man in a wig - i kid you not. Observe the chubby hands on the steering wheel when the m5 is driving down the wrong way of the motorway...
