Just offered my sisters lionhead rabbits some toast, but neither were interested! Both seem more interested in chewing flowers!

Slightly off-topic, but can two buck (male) rabbits ever be kept together without them fighting? My sisters were fine together when younger, but then they started to fight. Both have been newtered (about a month ago) but theyre still kept apart as they seem to still fight? Theyre now about 5months old I think

Rabbits are, and will always be, my Achilles heel.

Unfortunately, at the back end of last year, our rabbit contracted torticollis, or a head tilt. Without warning, our rabbit's head was twisted to the left, and her eyeballs had a rapid side-to-side movement, known as nystagmus. At the time, it was extremely distressing to see her in such a state, as she couldn't move without falling over and it was clear she was aggravated with the situation.

From first seeing her in that state, I feared the worst. We took her straight to the vet, where they told us that a course of antibiotics may help to clear up the situation. Three/four days later, there was no change in her condition and I simply couldn't let her suffer anymore.

We were told that an operation could be performed on her, but to not expect a full recovery. I made the decision to have her put down for her own sake. It's strange to think how such a small animal can create such heartache.

Anyway, here we are, five months later, and we're the proud owner of a baby boy rabbit. He's not just a rabbit, he's a character. People don't understand that rabbits do have character, for instance, he rolls over on the fireplace when he's in the living room and lies there still unti he's bored, the first rabbit we've had to do that.

I understand what you're going through and hope that it does work out in the end for you.

Ha ha our rabbit does that, he has a particular spot that he likes to roll over in, then he lies there on his side like a dog!
Also if anyone stands up he will run after them and run round their feet continually?!?

Try the rabbit on breakfast cereal. My first rabbit loved honey nut loops, and Sooty was a big fan of shreaded wheat fruitful. The crushed bits of shreaded wheat (like you get at the bottom of the box) were easy for her to eat as she could just lick them up.

Just what ours does too, only when we go for one of the doors though.

He also likes to make himself a little race track between the chairs and runs around them, as fast as he can, for a few minutes. When he's bored of that, he'll jump up on the chair you're sat on for attention.

I was never really allowed to have the rabbits running round the house much but I did let them hop around my room, though Sooty escaped and we had great fun trying to catch her when she got in the kitchen (lino floor so both me and her were sliding all over the place). The table didn't help matters much either as it got in the way and gave Sooty a place to hide.
Another thing she liked playing with was her ball which we had in her run. It was one of the dog ones that you can put treats in so that when they get rolled about the biscuit comes out (although in this case it was shreaded wheat).

Bob, I've little doubt that you can have apple twigs from Flimwell, I don't think Dad sprays them with anything, though I'll check with him. Got about 12 trees IIRC. Does Bugs prefer Bramley or ***?

Yes, they can be put together when they are neutered.

I have 4 rabbits at the moment (well, 4 and "some" as we discovered a new nest this last weekend ) 2 males, 2 females. Chaos & Havoc are mum & dad, Chris & Tash are son & daughter of Chaos & Havoc.

They used to get along fine, until we put them in a large run. Then Chris & Chaos fought regularly, with Chaos tearing great scabs in Chris' back. We booked Chaos into the vets to be done and a month later we booked in Chris. Strangely they still fought a little if they were allowed in the run all together, but once we'd put a fence of chicken wire across the middle, with 2 "tunnels" underneath it so they could come and go as they pleased, they were fine.

They all now live quite happily in the same run with the dividing piece of chicken wire removed.

Previously I had 2 brothers who grew up together and then started to fight. Came home from school one day to discover that Stein had ripped Frank's belly open leaving his innards on the floor. One quick rush to the vets and a neuter operation and Frank & Stein lived quite happily for many years thereafter.

One thing we tried was to move the droppings from one male into the other male's area and vice versa in order to mix the scent.

Long story short though, yes, they can live together quite amicably once they are neutered - they just need to get rid of all the remaining testosterone (can take up to 10 weeks for this to be gone completely).

Sorry to hear of the tooth problem Charlie, our first female developed this at 2/3 years old. After the operation she lasted 3-4 months the first time, but this gradually became less to about each month, and after 4 operation we decided enough was enough as she was not happy and couldn't eat hard food and she was put to sleep. Hardest thing I have ever had to do ..
Have to say this was the rear teeth though, the fronts are much less trouble to control.
I believe there is a 50 /50 chance of the teeth not growing again after the op.
My other 2 (1 male age 2 1 female age 6 ) have no such problems so far but as Giz (female) eats almost constantly this is not surprising
There was talk about being able to remove the teeth but it is risky in relation to breaking the rabbits jaw
Hope this helps and good luck - Cant help but love the little chewing, crapping, noisy gits

I had 2 female rabbits who were sisters and they lived together for about 4 months then one started biting chunks out of the other one I've never had rabbits that could live together although i've had several bunny/guinea pigs that lived together very happily
