Simon, you gonna personally fit a cat centre section to my car for its MOT?

I'd pay *good* money to sit and watch that happen!!

I'm one of the many who had problems with Scoobysport late last year, so I've been reading about the recent developments with interest.

Simon de Banke's post and the content of the current Ss site sounds very promising and comes as really good news. That the legendary Ss exhaust system will be available once again is a bonus, as I've yet to upgrade from the standard setup on my 00MY turbo.

Anyone else think that there are a few hints at Prodrive involvement on the site? Nicky Grist too, maybe?

Cheers

Kev

Obviously one born every minute and a few more on S/Net.

The ScoobySport exhaust was designed and manufactured by Hayward and Scott, on the same industrial estate in Basildon, a couple of hundred yards away. They are still manufactured by H + S and available from them.
Despite claims by S.S. that there were production problems with the exhausts, this was not the case. Simply, H + S would not supply the product until their account was brought into reasonable order. In the end the relationship broke down with H + S resorting to legal action. S.S. then got Janspeed to manufacture exhausts for them but S.S. ran into "production problems" again.
The M.D. of Janspeed then came on this BBS stating that they had no production problems.
The thread was then moderated with deletions and then locking despite the fact that the deleted posts were statements of fact.

There are some very clever design elements which aid the performance and of course the distinctive sound of the ScoobySport system.
Designing capable exhaust systems is not rocket science. There are many capable exhaust systems available and anybody swallowing the above statements is totally naive.

Nah, it's more than likely to be chopped to suit before long.

But if it does go the distance it'll carry ScoobyNet modifications no doubt.

Hmm....call me cynical, but last week we had a "praise ScoobySport even though it's gone bust" thread which was moderated to remove any negative comments, and now only a week later, we have a resurrection of the Scoobysport name involving the person who was moderating last week's thread

Ach, it's only business, and all is "fair" in business (good or bad).
Hopefully we'll be made aware of the connections between the two names (SS & SN) soon enough.....

Just seen the posts since I went to make my response.

Well now I understand why certain moderators took the action they did in respect of honest posts that were critical to S/Sport.

Imlach- I too thought the same though after the rather sycophantic "Pete's great" thread and all the factual negative posts were ommitted.

Mind you that thread may have helped seal a deal?

Glad you changed the name Imlach.

As I said on last week's thread, putting a business into liquidation generally means financial loss for customers....so to have such a "praising" thread last week was painful for those customers who had lost out....yes, Scoobysport may have done great things in the past, but you judge companies on their current & future performance, not their past.

Harvey,

**This is Shaun**

I can catagorically state that nothing had been progressed/discussed/ or even thought of concerning SS, when the forementioned thread you are on about was started. The moderation was also nothing to do with the turn of events that have taken place since.

Regards,
Shaun.

I agree Chiark - moderating will become a nightmare for those concerned, particualry as posts have been deleted in the past when there was no formal link between SN and Scoobysport. Anything deleted after a link between the two has been formalised will be tricky to justify.
It also has implications for other suppliers - can they control bad press if they have a partnership with SN?
I'm not saying that i think its right or wrong, thats for those concerned, but as a mod on another forum, i see this as a nightmare for you guys.
I wish you all luck.

It seems quite obvious to me that Prodrive (or the people linked to that organisation) wanted a commercially available way of selling aftermarket products that didn’t affect their relationship with IM and FHI.

Simon and whoever else concerned has used their links within those circles in the WRC/ISC/Prodrive/Dave Richards owned business arena to put together a group of people able to run a business and market the products that Prodrive developed outside their PPP range, which is aimed at sales via the dealer network and has some limitations to sales opportunities.

I would expect to see systems such as ATD, Prodrive active damping technology and aftermarket Pectel or other ECU's being offered at the high end price range from this company. I do not expect anything whatsoever aimed at the same market audience as catered to by the old scoobysport.

The name scoobysport and the fact scoobysport ceased trading will have been seen as a stroke of good luck in terms of a marketing name that people have heard of.

Obviously this is all in my own humble opinion, but it makes sense based on how I know Simon likes to network and use his contacts he is fortunate enough to make via his work on the WRC on the last few years.

You UK guys loves conspiracies. You really need to get out more

Funny, as an outsider I knew 2 days ago the text on the SS website was written by SDB.

Won't be buying anything from a business that does this to people

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=318819

Even if the management has changed the name is tainted and in my mind is related to failure and decent people getting ripped off.

Surely a new trading name with some of the branding ie scoobysport exhaust of the old company is the way to go?

...I'm not looking for a conspiracy, and anyway, SDB has alreayd stated on here that he is involved with the new Scoobysport.

All I'm concerened about is the poor buggers AKA 'the public' who have outstanding monies/products owed by the old Scoobysport. There's an example on this forum whose car is locked in there FFS.

All this 'praise Pete he's a god' stuff is out of place when a business is going under and people's hard-earned is at threat through no fault of their own. I thought the timing of that thread particularly offensive to some, and the fact that "issues" posts were being deleted just made it all the more sour.

Rightfully so, and I wasn't trying to ridicule that aspect.

We can only hope the new "owners" will put that right.

I share your concern about "Pete is gawd" threads BTW

Unhappy Sorry.

Thanks Chris, help appreciated.

I hope that eventually the CC company will refund me.

However, I have spent 1 hour on the phone, first to 3 different departments at the CC company, who want me to provide evidence that Scoobysport has ceased trading. This is proving difficult as Companies House website not up to date.

Fortunately the other thread carried the Official Receivers phone number, else how would I know what's happening? The Receivers say that PC has declared bankrupt and therefore Scoobysport has been closed down. They can send me a notice in about 3 - 4 weeks. In the meantime I have to settle my entire CC bill and then hope/wait for a refund.

As the sum involved is >£300 I am not happy.

Also I could potentially have received the goods and be 'trying it on', leading to suspicion and doubt on all sides. I could have a black mark against my name in the credit reference through no fault of my own.

Just to clear something up that is causing confusion.

The name "Scoobysport" and the right to use that name along with any associated web url's are the only items that have been purchased from the receivers. I feel greatly for the people that are on the creditors list, but this part is still to be directed and communicated via the official receivers. If anybody has any call on queries as regards monies or property connected with the original forementioned Scoobysport company I would strongly suggest you contact the official receivers in the first instance.

Regards,
Shaun.
