What time does it all kick off?
I`ll be having a quiet word in that Daves ear, l thought l might have got an invite, otherwise if l hadn`t have seen it on here l could have missed out and considering l bought the car from there l think l deserve a moan..
and its not PMT...
Mind you after my experience at the dentist today l could be very quiet...

Post 1 on page 1 has all the details. Did no one tell you about this meet at the last East Sussex meet?

I knew about the meet to Gatwick from this forum before the last East Sussex meet which was my first meet. The point i was trying to make was that it was mentioned that Dave was trying to introduce his customers to the club, then why couldn`t the garage make sure their customers were aware of the day. If l hadnt have been on here l would have missed out.....oh dear perhaps l`d better stop digging myself a big hole
Be kind to me tomorrow please...l`ve just had a tooth out

Hi Julie
You didn't get a late invite because I told Dave on Wednesday that you were coming, and he had seen you post but not put a face to the name. As to why you didn't get an early invite, I'm sure he will offer you a big apology tomorrow. All I will say in his defence is that he has been very busy recently with demanding customers such as I who stand around in the service area nattering and asking questions, and distracting him from what he should be doing. On top of that he has had some hassle trying to organise some nice cars for us to look at, which has distracted him somewhat from ensuring that everything else gets done in his usual thorough manner - so don't be too hard on him. He does what he does for us in his own him effectively, cos when the others go home he stays behind to get on with what he should have been doing during the day, and I have spent enough time up there at odd hours to know.
Hope your toothache feels better by tomorrow.
Keith

I totally understand your point. I suppose doing a mail shot/phone calls costs time (and money).... which as Keith has said, Dave has very little of.
I think tomorrow will show Gatwick Subaru there's a large number of enthusiastic Scoob owners in Sussex/Surrey who would welcome this sort of event on a regular basis (say twice a year) If there's enough interest I'm sure this event will be run again and a mailing list could be created.
I'm in a similar boat to you having just bought my new wagon from Gatwick. If I did not know about this BBS or had never met Keith...... I'd never of known about the event. This would of been shame as I'm a huge fan of 'modding' Scoobs
Speak to you tomorrow.

See ya there Julie!
Nathan - what's your route? May try to join up but lots going on first thing - take daughter to work, clean car, check on outfit for Julia!!!! Hope Glenn is there so she can do some "posing" with a rally car!!!!! Course, it will have to be clean.
Try not to get there before 10am as they will be moving cars around to make room for us all!
Good point Squadron Leader! Can see why you got promoted through the ranks so quickly - knew it wasn't your flying skills!!!!!! If it's a good'un we must aim for another!
Are you touching down into the wind by any chance?

lol Keith...maybe doing a photoshoot soon with some laydees ! Desperately hoping will be there, feeling better now than I have done all day, so fingers crossed.
Julie, Coopers in Stone Cross, Eastbourne, so I doubt you'll come this way, then back to Crawley....unfortunately I don't know what route Nathan is planning otherwise we could have arranged a mini meet at the bottom of the A23 and convoyed up together....damn, why didn't someone suggest this earlier !!!!!!!!
See y'all tmw

Didn't get your name but you hade the Silver auto wagon. (Martin??)
You wanted to know what power your car was putting out!
Well I took the numbers down and looked it up when I got home, 'cos I'm nice like that
It does have a TD04 turbo and should put out 220ps (about 218bhp) @ 6000rpm
The WRX wagon was the only Impreza to be offered wth the optional auto box.
And the claimed 0-62mph was 6.9 secs
It could be a MY95 or 96 as the chassis codes are the same for both years.

Iain - thanks for looking that up for Martin, yes you are nice like that. Glad you enjoyed the day.
Dave and the boys (and Nicky) worked hard today didn't they! When I left there was one car still being worked on - then they had to move all the cars back into place that they moved to create our area. They are probably still at it! My thanks to all of them and all those that turned up to our EastSussexScoobies meet. I have to especially thank the "limited edition" drivers - the two 22B's, and the two RB5's and the P1's, and to Wug for bringing the Group N rally car, which sounded rather good when it left.
Sandwiches and refreshments (on the house) were also of excellent quality, so I hope Dave passes our thanks on to the caterer.
Who was that shouted "get yer **** out for the lads" to Subargirl? Honestly!
If you weren't there you missed a good'un.

Just to say thanks to Keith and all the guys for the chat and interest in some of my probably stupid questions. I had an interest in getting some fog lights fitted to my Sti and a decent sound system. Thanks to Dave l`ll be parting with £300 for the lights and thanks to Del for the demonstration of his goodies..ooerrr looks like l`ll be making expensive enqiries in that direction too..
The kids and l enjoyed the day, and hopefully will see you all again soon.

Jason - should I be surprised that you posted a Wagon Squadron pic first? Nice!
Thought I would add a caption - how about
The Wagon Squadron soared across the tarmac! Suddenly, Squadron Leader "Shiny Pipes" Wright spied a gaggle of Rover vehicles in his mirrors, obviously intent on attacking base, and immediately peeled off to engage the enemy and protect his flight of new squadron members from harm!!!!!!
The sort of brave derring-do expected of a top Squadron Leader with the latest version of the Wagon, with the special pull down sun visor behind the rear-view mirror. Is that how you spotted them and we didn't?

Keith..... My 'map reading light flap' is a sort of air brake which allows me to carry out this sort of manoeuvre. In this picture you can see me adopting the classic 'Foxtrot Lima Alpha Papa' defence posture. Those rovers didn't stand a chance!
Steve.... Sloppy? I'd like to see some 4 doors do this with such style and grace

Thought you would be up early Jason!!!!!!
My excuse was I wanted to find out how Petter got on - GOOD BOY!!!!!!!
I am sure everyone wants to know the measurements we took yesterday - I even took a picture of you with the tape measure Jason! (sad or what!)
Your good self - 27"
Dave (blue Wagon) - 25.5"
Simon (cool grey Wagon) - 25"
Me - 24.75"
Martin (silver Wagon with unusual spoiler) - 24.2"
You did well to perform such a manoeuvre in your "Outback"!!!!!!!!!! Get it lowered quick! Then your "defence posture" will appear to all as a crouching cat, ready to spring to the attack!..............where are my pills???????????

Glenn - I wasn't sad enough to write them down last time - but I always have the tape measure with me now (very sad indeed)!
