Bike Theft Part III - update

Well his address turned up today on a letter from the court
However the court summary of what he was charged with makes me sick reading it.
His address is going to be provided to various places including MAG and MCN with full detail of what happened.
Also writing to the CPS and telling them what useless bunch of cvnts they are
and asking them what is the point of having a police force when it actually manages to catch a criminal only to have that criminal prosecuted for silly minor offences as opposed to what they actually did and let off with what I consider a worthless punishment.
Think I might send it to the home office as well saying there might as well not be a police force.
As for his address I shall be making sure a few bike forums know of it including the global R1 forum and also MCN Ninjas and other bike forums.
Any other ideas welcome

I can't say how sorry I am to hear about that B20. I cannot believe that magistrates can be so lenient to scum like that when the machinery for a proper swingeing punishment is there for them to use. I was always twitched when I parked my bike out of my sight too.
Maybe magistrates are frightened of possible retribution from the criminals these days, if they are then they should not on the bench. I find it impossible to understand their attitudes in these cases. As was said, if a normally law abiding person gets caught for something comparatively mild they get hammered to the maximum. They may not fear anything from such people.
I think I would at least make sure that the very maximum publicity was given to this case, in the national news if they will accept it. I would certainly do my best to see that the magistrates got the maximum amount of embarrassment anyway.
I hope you are able to get full recompense from the civil courts even if they have to send the bailiffs round. They obviously have money if you were offered settlement out of court. Might be worth mentioning that in court.

B2Z. Sounds like the CPS just cut a deal for the sake of expediancy, bit like the plea bargains so common in the US system. The policy for that type of deal making comes from the Home Office, in other words it's politically influenced. If the police thought that it was worthy of a custodial sentence, then it's worth dropping a letter to your MP in addition to the CPS, and why not cc the Chief Constable too. Unless people such are yourself are prepared to stand up and say it's not acceptable, not much hope of anything changing. I hope you do send that letter.
Get The Sun involved, really go for the ****!
Sorry about the language but I'm steaming too.
Phil
p.s. edited for language, no place for that on a public bbs even though it's my first reaction.

I tried the sun and they werent interested, think its a case of this is an everyday occurence now and this is considered petty crime that no one gives a toss about
Might send them an email though as I called the Newsdesk Saturday afternoon and I think no one was interested in anything, more like when they could get to the pub.
Still writing the letter to CPS, Motorcycle News and MAG at the very least. Turns out the CPS offered no evidence on the assault on the police officer - may have struck a deal about the defendant dropping his claims of police brutality if the CPS dropped theirs
Gonna find out for certain though by asking many questions in my letter that I want answers to.
Chief Constable might be written to as well, cheers for the idea BIJ.
