might be sensible to split us up into smaller groups..
a group of 11 is way too easy to split up due to traffic.. ?

Marv: you doing name tags so we know who is who ?

You can add Marc down as coming - (he has no access to the web, but gave him direction and He'll be there for 10. (He's the one with the Silver MY03 WRX with all the toys on it)

Dave - just off to clean the car

Great drive out today guys, thanks for letting me tag along
I'll put some video footage of our little group of 5/6 up on the web asp.
Saw some "spirited" driving today, and some downright dangerous driving too, you know who you are
Apart from that, a great day out, and big thanks to my daughter who was navigating and saw micks mistake at the junction not far from the final stop (I presume it was you mick, in the blue car?)
Alan, how much will you pay me to not tell john what you did to "his" car LOL
I feel inspired to do a tour of cheshire now, hope you can all make it over for it, see you all again real soon,
chris.

Great day ...thanks to Paul & Merv

Chris...I don't know what your talking about....

Oh you mean when when I thought we were going in the wrong direction again and did a "controlled" 180 spin. I blame my co-pilot for the poor map reading

regards

Alan

ps don't tell John he'll get all upset

Thumbs up Thanks - Can't wait for the next

Hi All,

First of all, thanks to Paul and Marv for arranging this drive, you chose some really great roads, I have never treated my car like that!

Thanks to you all for making me and Julie so welcome, as I stated before I/we were apprehensive about what our reception would be like, but you treated us like one of the 'gang' so thanks for that!

I think my poor sport is in need of some TLC after the action seen today - just hope there won't be puddles of oil on the garage floor tomorrow. But I think the ol'gal did well to keep up - so I'm more than happy.

The weather was p**s-poor on the way back, tail-backs on M1(S) and M69 back to Coventry, a WRX(STI?) had totalled it on the M69 (hit central reservation and must have rolled it - because it was a mess) - I hope the occupants are OK...

Can't wait until the next meet - availability pending.

Thanks once again

Paul & Julie (birthday girl)

looking forward to that CW42!

Was good to meet Mark and Sam, Foxmod flateric (and partner) and yourself (and daughter)..
Shame no S/Yorks lads.. maybe next time eh chaps?

Was very enjoyable today- knackered now the adrenaline has finally worn off..
Think the phrase- 'drive it like you stole it' could hav been applied to several people today

btw chris- We'd be up for the cheshire meet

My thanks too to Marv and Paul for the great route. Pity the weather matched some of the sunday drivers .
I made it back home in time for my roast, and without having to re-fuel!
Hopefully I'll manage to get the video off my camera onto my PC, not having much luck so far. Once I do, I'll stick some highlights up.

Marv, PM me with where you want the tape sent and I'll post it in the next day or 2.

Thanks again,
Martin.

Default The film is up!

ok, here it is! peak tour 04

It's in windows media format, because I will put it on my pda.

it's 14.4mb in size, so not so long to download on a broadband

connection.

I've only filmed the first 2 parts of the route, as the tape ran out

just as we left the strines inn, and I couldn't stop to change it.

This is just a sample of the film, I have most of the journey on tape,

but I cut out all the boring bits through towns

I can transfer the full film on vhs or put a proper sized mpeg file on cd

if any of the group I was in want a copy ( I still have your contact details

mike and will post sometime in the week)

enjoy,

chris.

just want to see how stupid I was - and learn from it..

Default Scooby driver in questionable overtaking manouver shocker!

Ok chrome, here it is in all its glory
Probably not the best place to overtake, but I'm sure we've all done some bad overtaking ourselves in the past
Here's a map of the bit you overtook on, which when you look at it, doesn't seem to bad, but on the road, it did seem like a blind summit on a blind right hander to me

And there's the video of course

VIDEO

Have fun, drive safe, see you soon,
chris.

Red face

maybe it wasnt the best move ever
fair cop guvnor.
I saw the corner on TomTom and judged it that I had plenty of room to get in well before it, and obviously I was conscious of the blind bend.. and was watching for any oncoming..

ah sod it. I wont defend it.
I probably caused some brown trousers on the part of the fiat.. my bad.
my mistake.
*slaps forehead*

I'd like to have another crack at the hairpin ridden stretch again at night.. PIAA's on and give it some proper stick.

btw- its a real shame you didnt catch the Lady Bower section
Was fun.

I need an onboard camera myself

Nah - all clear. Will take it easy for a bit and check the oil when I get a moment. The brakes have started squeaking a little, only done it a few times so will have to keep an eye out. Sports have drums on the back and poxy-small discs on the front - I've probably left half of them going down the hill that's on the video.
