Thanks for asking the questions below David, I was thinking the same thing.
The 20 or so people listed: do you know wach other already, since I have been to a meet where everybody seemed to know each other and I felt a bit of a lemon!!
Also, I have a Sport (not a Turbo), but it is modded to make the right noises and look the part - is this a problem?
It is the missus' birthday that day - so I am trying to persuade her to do something different - and this is it.
Basically, I after a bit of re-assurance that it won't be a dangerous tear-*** around some twisty rounds (i have nothing against 'fun' cornering); I will be made welcome and not left to look like a lemon; and it is going to be worth while trekking up from Coventry and back...
I will definately be up for it if you can give me some feedback - sorry for my 'naive' approach, but it was all your first time once!!

I for one know what you mean, I've only been on two meets myself, but my first one was with these guys and they really are a friendly bunch
I don't know any of them apart from meeting at my two meets, so come along and introduce yourself, it will be good to meet other new faces
If you want to go for a "spirited drive" then go for it, and if you don't, then don't. I just enjoy these types of things as you get to meet fellow scooby drivers, share the experience of the day and get to enjoy your car on some of the great roads the UK can offer !

If you you want to see some great countryside and meet some great people on some demanding roads then come along ,groups will sorted by your selfs or on the day I.E all the s/yorks crew will make a nice group of 5 !!!
flatericuk, my first meet was back last year at the clock tower in shardlow, and I've met loads of new m8's since then, all through scooby ownership
like foxmod says, if you dont want to go the pace of the "fast" drivers, then take your time. I for one will be doing just that on the day, as I will have the family with me
But it still makes for a great day out
I'll be bringing my walkie talkies, so your missus can chat to mine about how sad thier blokes are

I only know a couple of the lads (Marx Cheesy and Peccy) from previous meets (and Pod)
My biggest problem up there is I dont know the roads/area at all.. so will be playing some interesting catch up

Hey there,i`ve just registered with you guys (sunday 12/4/04) i brought my scoob 2 weeks ago now and loving every minute of it,it was you guys who inspired me,
Last year i took my girlfriend to the clock tower at shardlow for sunday lunch, to my surprise i saw a car park full of imprezas! I always wanted one, so i`ve just turned 25 and managed to get some reasonable insurance and wanna come out for a drive with you lot,so if you can put my name down it would be much apreciated! cheers, Dave.

Yep, happened at the weekend. A corsa decided that the right hand lane on an island is for turning left.
It's very minor damage and as the car is in soon for a full re-spray anyway, it will be covered by that. Only a small ripple in the back door and a dent on the bottom of the wheel arch, you can't tell unless you look for it. All the marks came off with a bit of T-cut. It's not enough to stop me coming, I'll be fcuked if gonna miss another meet.

Hi,

Leave M1 at Jct 25 and take A52 to Derby. Follow dual carriageway for some way to first roundabout and turn right onto Sir Frank Whittle Way. Follow road along past garages on left, fill up at Shell garage on left if required, follow road along (past BMW garage) until you see the Morrisons signs on the left and turn into retail park. Meeting point is directly opposite the first mini-roundabout - look out for the scoobs !!
