I thought the reason of a group buy was to secure good price based on a larger quantity of product?

PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG??????

What is the point of doing a group buy based on 2 supplying dealers? Answer Does'nt make sense.

As i've said in previous post i've gone to alot of hard work to sort this out and i'm getting pretty angry with the situation that i find myself in.

Everyone who's on the list i appreciate your commitment....

And i would ask that Subtyper remove himself from the list and add himself to his own as i want nothing to do with the situation you've put me in.

Seems a real shame the Phil you have taken it on yourself to ask me to leave your group buy. Is it because you feel threatened by me staying and actually in previous threads supporting your group buy or are you afraid you wont get your benefits from the group buy. I will say this again and will put it in capital letters as you obviously missed it a few times in previous reply`s. I AM NOT TELLING PEOPLE TO COME AND BUY TSL`s CRYSTAL SIELIGHTS AND NOT FORCING ANYBODY TO MOVE AWAY FROM YOUR GROUP BUY ALL I STATED WAS A PRICE AND QUICKER DELIVERY DATE. TO TRY AND HELP I ALSO SAID THAT I WOULDN`T WANT TO PULL OUT AND LEAVE THE GROUP BUY SHORT AS I DO THESE THINGS FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHER USERS RATHER THAN MYSELF. (Which must be the whole poitn of the group buy surely the benefit of everybody) I think your behaviour has become very childish in asking me to leave and I wish you good luck with your delivery dates and group buy. IF you would like to remove me from the list that I created because you hadn`t bothered then I will be more than happy to have nothing more to do with yourself. Please do not send any more unpleasant Private messages to my screename especially if you cant clear yor inbox for the reply.

This group buy got off the ground due to alot of hard work from Phil. We should all appreciate this and I for one will be sticking with him. No disrespect to anyone else just my own personal view.

TBH, if I was doing a group buy for something and someone started another group buy for the same product, knowing there was already a group buy for that product on the go, I'd be pissed off too.
It takes a lot of time and hard work to arrange them, I know I have done a few now.

But, I would keep my options open too though for better offers for the group buy, if a much better offer came along, before I had actually purchased the order, then I would be speaking to the original supplier, if he couldn't match the new suppliers price, the new supplier would get the group buy.

IMHO 75p and a quicker delivery date isn't going to buy it for me, sorry guy's.
I'm not gonna let you down Phil over 75p
£20 off and a longer delivery date and I would be changing group buy's

For anyone unfamiliar with Roger Clark Motorsport, please allow me to share my experience. Someone had smashed the lense on my PIAA driving lamp. Phoned round desparate for a replacement (had a meet to go to the next day and didn't want to turn up with a smashed lense). RCM were the only guys to have one in stock, which they confirmed only after a very thorough check which required me reading the numbers imprinted on the lense, leaving nothing to chance. I told the guy I was an hour away, and asked what time they close. Guy said, "Half an hour ago...but if you're coming I can wait." How's that for service?

These guys are a serious, no nonsense, motorsport business. Glad to do business with them.

John : You are bang out of order. This is not your group buy. You want to run a group buy go away and do it but do not mess up somebody elses hard work. Think about it. If you did it on my group buy I would be totally pissed off with you. I think Phil has conducted himself, on this board, with considerable restraint. Just look at what you have done and how you would feel if it was your group buy.

Nothing like labouring a point, is there guys?

Everyone goes on about loyalty etc to this group buy, but I'd like to see where everybody's loyalty would go if a competitor were to offer a better deal that was actually worth mentioning! (i.e. not 75p)

As much as I am aware what work goes into organising a GB, and as much as I am grateful to Phil for organising this one, I am only interested in the best deal for me, and isn't this business all about healthy competition anyway?

Question

I am interested in this as well, but can somebody explain EXACTLY what we would be getting and what else I would need to get rid of the awful orange things on my UK MY00...

Why do I always seem to be the only one in the dark - no pun intended

Mark.

Default Agreed with talizman

The whole reason for setting up a group buy is to get a good deal...which is why we do it.....so lets push on and see were this takes use....

phil

p.s. no more bad press please i'm trying my hardest. lets keep it clean

I don'rknow the feasability of this, but would it be a good idea to collate numbers of interested parties first, and then approach a selection of competitors in order that they may vie for your business rather than securing it before a ball is kicked, so to speak?

Having said that, I've never seen a GB done that way, but seems like a good idea to me.

Most times, a price is agreed on say, 20+ units for example, and quite often MUCH more than target is met, not always for a further discount.

This from someone who has never organised one though! :P

OK Talizman lets have a group buy on Lambdas. Put me down for two if the price is right. One for M/Y '95 WRX and one for M/Y 00 STi. Will you also be doing bugeyes? Bosch are the manufacturer of these for O/E and the last price I have is around £120 inc postage but presumably this will be bettered for quantity in a Dutch auction. Halfords and others do a universal for about £50 for one but I do not know if they are any good or what models they fit. Can you let us know? Also the price and rough delivery time.

Harvey,

As soon as my Lambda goes, you can be rest assured that I'll do a group buy on Lambda's no problem, but in the meantime, I have no requirement for one, not to mention absolutely no desire to do one either.

Since you require 2 of them, may I suggest that you arrange a group buy?
