I didn't know it was through RCM, they are great people and am now even more happy to be sending my business to them.

Keep up the good work.

Wuss,

How's it going, mate? What you get on this group buy is a pair of side lights as pictured on page 2 of this thread (2nd picture). You also get bulbs, and delivery is included too.

When are you gonna get yourself to a meet? Would be good to catch up.

Talizman : Thank you for the invite to start an Oxy Sensor Group Buy but as I am in the middle of the Second Hybrid FMIC GB I have my hands full and running another buy at the same time would be foolish. BTW if you were going to wait `til you needed a Lambda and then start a group buy you will be driving around for some time with an engine in unsatisfactory condition. Hope you are OK but you never know the effects of bore wash etc., often sometime after the event.

A bit off topic but in view of what has happened I think that a minority of guys need to look at the ethos of a GB. There is an etiquette.

YOU DO NOT POST ON SOMEBODY ELSES GROUP BUY WITH ALTERNATIVE SUPPLIER PRICE OR DELIERY ONCE ARRANGEMENTS ARE IN HAND.

"I need it now" and "I must have it for my granny`s wedding next week" merchants need to get real. Starting a group buy and dealing with perhaps 20 odd guys, often with differing requirements and sometimes with different levels of comprehension or knowledge of the product, then pulling the thing together, arranging payment and delivery details, etc. all takes time. Even a simple buy, well run can take well over a month from start to finish and on more complex matters a couple of months is quite quick.

Then there is the organisers relationship with the supplier. The actual quantity will remain unknown right up to the closing date or even later and a lot of people will expect almost instantanious delivery. It is the organisers integrity that the vendor relies on and it is his reputation and standing that is on the block. It only takes one participant to cause unpleasantness or poblems at the suppliers to tarnish the organisers standing.
Now in my experience 30 people can put their name down for a GB but when it comes time to pay perhaps only half honour their commitment.

The organiser probably has his hands full and the last thing he needs is ill thought out or naive advice to split the group buy in two from someone who has never organised a GB. Just for a start who is going to do the extra work and what about the practicalities of it. What are the benefits and are they worth the effort ?

It is also quite fair for the GB organiser to assume that potential participants can read and have taken the trouble to read the thread. Like on page one something to the effect "I will contact my supplier Roger Clarks" and then later someone comes on "You havn`t named your supplier mate".

Then when it comes time to pay some guys can`t find their cheque book and try to **** you about, then there are changes in delivery addresses and in the meantime some of the e-mail addresses originally given have changed. Some guys can`t even follow simple instructions.

So in organising a group buy there is a lot to take into account and the organiser needs the loyalty and support of those in the GB and he doesn`t need concerns about people jumping ship for a fiver or whatever. Fortunately that has not happened on this occasion but it must be a concern to anybody who quite selflessly is trying to better his fellow ScoobyNetters.

"I ain`t making anything out of it" It is a group buy and there would be something far wrong if that were the organisers motives.

Don`t get me wrong because the majority of us already understand all the above and a cameraderie and common purpose can develop and there is satisfaction from genuine appreciation of most participants. This is slightly tainted by a small minority who are only interested in themselves, the least price and regard a GB as their right but have no intention of returning anything to the ScoobyNet community.

Default PUBLIC APOLOGY BY SUBTYPER

Ok right well after everybody`s comments and the obvious trouble that I have caused. I will publically apologise to Phil and the rest of the net for my original post. I can only stress at no point up until a member on here suggested 2 group buys I even consider running this group buy and no bad intentions towards this group buy were intended. I am sorry for everybody feeling that I was trying to muscle in with my suggestions of another supplier willing to do a group buy and I have never tried to compete against anybody with price. I also mentioned in an earlier post . I would certainly stick by this group buy and support Phil. So hope everybody can forgive me for my actions and get on with your group buy in peace.

Slight thread hijack

LOL @ Talizman & Harvey, I just got a MAF sensor on a Group Buy as better to be safe than sorry

I do need a Lambda Sensor (a genuine OE one, as im still running on the Halfords one 20k on ,and its still going fine, afr's & delta dash back this up)

If Talizman doesnt want to do one, I *may* be pursuaded into doing one

ChristainR cant you work out the VAT

Harvey - thanks for the GB etiquette comments, glad this is put to bed now

Sonic: If it helps you I have just got two Lambda sensors from BRD (Bob Rawle Developments) at what i thought was a good price. A hell of a lot less than the local dealer price of £160 plus vat. That could be a starting point for you but I am not sure if Branco wants the hassle of a G.B. I am sure there will be cheaper sources for the Bosch items. If you want more specific details ring me 07860 302020 or harveysmith1@btopenworld.
I have no experience of the Halfords Universal item and would want to try it first to see what is involved in fitting and how many different types there are and how it performs before a G.B. was organised round it. Others on here will have experience of alternative Lambdas or cheaper sources so i think a new thread is called for.

I am in if there is a better price.

Selling them in Banzai for £59.95

seems a bit steep considering groupbuy discount.

The current ones look horrible, especially with nasty yellow bulbs, the sidelights on the classic impreza just don't look right!...

I originally said the 16/4/04 would be the cut of for the group buy.

However this had been adjusted....

10/4/04 IS THE FINAL DATE FOR POSTING FOR THIS GROUP BUY

£59.99 excluding delivery from Subaru centre. I thought the group buy was £65. I would of thought with this much interest, you might of had a better price.

No worries
