TSL 333
I used TSL after a visit to a supplier of parts in leicester. I went for a D.V. and I was left waiting around for about 45mins, really took the ****. Went to TSL, got a cup of tea, got to watch them work and a great amount of advice on anything I wanted to know, not just pointed in the general direction of the waiting area.
I like the whole service provided by TSL, I like to be looked after, some people don’t hold this high in their list of values and this is probably why they don’t see where the extra cost is going! Just my opinions! I don’t want to be standing in an oily garage, fair enough the end results may be the same (i.e. quality of product and use ability) but that’s just me, be boring if we were all the same!!

I thought this was for discussing the 333 conversion. I'd love one but my wrx is too old
However regarding the service. I have learnt the hard way that the best is usuall not equal to the cheapest. At the end of the day, we take our cars to specialists because they have the knowledge and knowledge is a commodity. They know what they are talking about.
To aquire that knowledge, especially with regard to the 333 conversion, it takes time (costs for staff), experimentation (can you spell blown engine
) and then they have to warranty against the failures.
This is why people pay more to get the service. Would you let the local Auto Electrician do your 300BHP remap? Kinda makes the point for me.
And *all* businesses have their bad days. Everyone does. It must say something that you have to book time with them for even an engine rebuild.
Just my 2ps worth and no I have never used TSL (just got my scoob) and I have no dealings with them at present. Just putting over a point of view.

I made a post in the Drivetrain fourm looking for advice on what modifications would people recommend to maximise the engine package I already have without replacing parts that I've already bought. I have tried to keep my modifcations within boundaries so I maintain my warranty. I am more than happy with the handling and brakes.
I have an MY02 STi7. I have already done the following mods:
1) PPP (including ECU change not piggyback and uprated Fuel Pump)
2) ScoobySport Mid-section (not PPP with Silencer/Cat)
3) ScoobySport Back Box (not PPP)
4) Prodrive Springs + Geometry Setup
5) Prodrive Strut Braces
I got some very helpful advice (as always) from the ScoobyNet guys.
After Emailing TSL with no response I called up and spoke to Gavin. I know Graham and Paul already but made no mention of it to get some unbiased advice. Gavin asked questions and knew his stuff to guide me through the best advice. It's now booked in 20th April for a TSL 333 - ish. I know I need to replace the ECU (compromise I had to make) but the mid-section and back box should be fine ( I made sure I got the uprated Fuel Pump for the PPP when it came out).
I've also included a Green Filter (as recommended by the Guys in the Drivetrain fourm) and a Turbosmart Dump Valve for fits and giggles.
I'll report back if this thread is still open and not spiralled out of control again!

I think the topic has evolved! It evolved from people discussing the 333, and whether they thought that TSL were true to their claims to people just slagging off TSL, which in turn has brought about defensive comments! All relative IMHO as they relate to this topic and the reasons the last 333 topic was removed!
knobby I already have the triple 3 re-map on my car along with my own de-cat.....I also have the TSL uprated fuel pump and green cottong filter.
To be unbiased I would say that if I was in your situation I would try the 333 demo car before I spent my hard earned. As you have the PPP already and therefore 300BHP ish, you may not find a massive difference with the re-map. I think in your situation I would try before you buy, to make sure you are noticeably going to be able to feel the difference before parting with your hard earned.
I am more than happy with the results on my car but then I didnt have PPP and only a full de-cat before the map. I would love to say that I have killed PPP cars on the road etc but that would be un-true. The simple truth is I havent played with any and to be honest im not sure how big the difference would be anyway.
HOWEVER .......
Have a look in EVO this month coz the scooby tuners shootout should be in there, with TSL pitting itself against PPP, type 25 (i think) and a couple of other well known names.

Oh and why do you have to change your ECU??? and I think its probably bye bye warranty time mate, especially with the map and the turbosport dump valve (of which I have one too)

That may be true mate .....so its even more worth trying the triple 3 car before you pay ya cash ...... Hopefully you will try it and say woooooow that is so much better, but if you dont, at least you know
I still think your warranty will be going bye bye though

Amazing, this thread has snowballed since last night. Another Question.
The TSL 333 replaces the standard legal exhaust with a "thundercat" exhaust system which claims to pass the MOT standard. Can this be said of the Scoobysport system as I can't find anything on their website.
Also, how much would the Scoobysport equivilant to the TSL triple 333 cost?
Finally, has anyone got a JDM sti v7 MY02 who has actually got either the TSL triple 333 or Scoobysport equivalent. Please tell me,in your opinion, was it worth the money or not?

Calm it down lads , argueing over a few bhp, the team at TSL are the best ive seen for working on scoobys , for instance whilst watching them carry out a 4 wheel lazer alignment for my sti ,they didnt just adjust the track rods ,they adjusted the subframe cradle , also i now you can adjust the front camber but these guys set the rear , you could tell that this lot had the ability to prep rally cars.
i had my stippp remapped by tsl WITHOUT having to buy a new ecu and i am sure of this as they "opened " the map in front of me showing a specific fact about the car that prodrive had put on it!
