and the new tyres

225/50/16s pilot sport cups fit perfectly, don't catch on the rear struts with plenty to spare and not rubbed once on the arches (did roll them just to make sure but don't think it was needed, maybe if the car was lower...) fantastic levels of grips in the dry from the word go and not too shoddy in the wet

Interesting that you got 225's under there with clearance as I'm not sure I would on mine.
What off-set are the rims Kev?

They look scarey for a thunderstorm on the M6...

i asked the question but didn't get an answer http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=508724 so yes, they do fit kept up quite a pace over the peaks in pretty much wet conditions without too much fuss, get stuck in a torrential downpour and i might back off a smidge

almost finished converting the top mounts to castor adjustable and finally finalised the airbox, rain stops play

managed to finish off the castor plates on saturday evening, set to max with the camber bolts to their max also (1-1.5 neg.) whole different feel to the car, tons of turn in grip now and the back ends want to come round a bit more mid corner, mission accomplished photos to come...

geometry now on the to do list me thinks, but can't justify the costs while im thinking of changing the suspension

i've aligned it, so it will be spot on

done a few things in readiness for SSO, changed the plugs this week finally, gone out on a limb with some untried NGK hybrid plugs, we'll wait and see need a test session to make sure im happy with the castor setup, weather is looking slightly better for Sunday, and a good job too because my tyres wouldn't of stood a chance with the midweek forecast

Smile

interesting weekend SSO didn't go according to plan in the results department, ended up last in the queue for the handling, saw the rain coming so tried a bit too hard on my only dryish lap as it was going to be my only chance of a decent time and lost it after the first cross over, thought i'd caught the drift but a cone was sticking out on the apex and instead of just tapping it out the way (thinking you lost your time if you hit a cone) i stupidly tried to avoid it and tankslapped straight out the course taking a cone under the car for my troubles time i'd got round for another go and queued up the track was properly wet and there was no chance of getting a good time with my tyres, i was either aquaplanning, going sideways or understeering off (need to win the lottery and have 2 sets of wheels) 41 something was my best...

after the handling disaster onto the drag strip i went, did a 30 minute loop of the 1/4 mile not expecting anything decent with the tyres, tried a few different launches with different diff settings, buckets of wheel spin everytime as i was expecting all the way into 3rd, managed 11 or 12 runs and came out with a 12.5@106, twice! beating my previous best monsoon 1/4 mile time by a second

plugs seem to work a treat, NGKs new hybrid PFR7W-Ts out of the new RS4 gapped to 0.6mm

and no mention of my exhaust centre section coming adrift from the back section, it's fooking loud without a backbox!! but revs sooo much better had to drive it home like it, couple of nurofen did the trick when i got it

never really got to talk to you on the day Kev but everytime you drove past your were smiling and the thumbs were up.. that handling run when you lost it looked very fast to begin with.. obviously too fast as it turned out..

well i wasn't going to let a bit of rain spoil the day, had a good laugh, handling could of been so much better if it had stayed dry think i might put my clinic voucher to use and get the geometry done by professionals car ran perfect with the 3 degrees added to it, definitely felt the difference, think we might have to do a permanent map

I doubt that.
At Loton Hill climb in the pouring rain yesterday, so many went up slowly, almost scared of the wet conditions, yet an Impreza was born to race in these conditions!
I am sure a laser alignment Kev will work wonders on the car.
