so, my car breaks down again it would seem that it's not the clutch that's worn out but the fact that my gearbox has too much oil in and leaked out of the input shaft seal and all over my clutch it got to a point yesterday when you could put it in gear, let off the clutch and the car would idle as normal cars up in Yorkshire somewhere still awaiting recovery, so will start the de-contamination process tonite...

got to say Simon, car felt a load faster than last time, only saw 1.15bar all day

well, looks like the gearbox is coming off again emptied a whole can of brake cleaner down various access holes around the clutch and there's still no bite

still a bit strange as there's no sign of oil anywhere on the flywheel or clutch housing, we'll see when it's all off again i love cars, me

well, apart from the obvious disaster at the weekend i do have my new anit roll bars they measure 23mm withe verniers (does that mean 22mm excluding the thickness of the paint?) just need to get the solid rear drop links, might just go for the whiteline wire jobbies found a handy installation guide part 1 part 2. also discusses the handling effects of running just the rear and then both together, although to be honest mine doesn't suffer too much from understeer so might be alright fitting both, only problem is the rear isn't adjustable so not sure on how severe the stiffness is...

Kev, we're probably both talking to the same supplier mate. Mikee has been in touch and if you don't mind going skin-flint postage rather than Recorded Delivery these will be cheaper in a bulk purchase imo.

I need 2, i'm guessing you guys need 2 also?

Kev, good set of articles for us all to digest!
Facinating bit was the tyre pressures.
I hill climb on 33 psi all-round with a car with all these mods and a few more, so trying 37 will be a must in 2 weeks time when I race again.
It is these gems that make Projects and the 'Projectionists' so interesting
Graham.

ps Hope the clutch works out.

Great handling info, very thorough thanks.

As for the SX, well you may just persuade me to join in Carl as well. Not quite in tune with the economy build but then they do look nice

i think we can remove the theory that the clutch was contaminated with oil

i hearby declare it fubar'd

nice collection of clutch material

it's only the flywheel side that's knackered, the other side isn't as bad, still worn out but not to the extent of having no material left whatsoever, luckily the flywheel hasn't been scored by the bare rivets
