To Flat 4:

Have you seen the latest edition of the old Car and Car Conversions mag?
The twin engined Ultima is in there in ALL its glory.

What a car!

Time you built a garage/moved to a new garage/house.

Big respect to those of you who work in the drive/road and get things done so well.

Expecting lots of pics of these brakes.

well i managed 15 mins before saying "sod it, it's feckin' freezing!" i have some clearance issues which need resolving so no pictures just yet, funnily enough i had the Volks out last night, they do seem to have a smidge more caliper clearance than the stock items i have on ATM

Mikee dropped off my new TMIC last night along with new fuel pump and Carl Davey's injector adaptors - got to say, very professional looking kit Carl got some work on when i get back from France

Happy birthday Kev.

Sorry it's belated, i've been laid up in my cabin for the past few days with the flu but hopefully on the mend now.

Glad you're happy with the adaptors. Remember to use plenty of vaseline - they are a very tight fit.

managed to brave the cold this weekend, had another play with getting the brakes to fit, think im almost there now

next job was to get the STi 8 intercooler to mate with the phase 1.5 manifold without removing or modifiying the dump valve mounting where it fouls with the idle control valve

a) flattened the metal pipe going into the idle control valve (still plenty of space for air to pass through)
b) removed the gasket where it fits to the manifold
c) shaved a few mil off the manifold also
d) took the corner off the intercooler dump valve mount

fits off the car, might be a whole different kettle of fish on the car as i don't know how far the intercooler will have to come towards the throttle body, time will tell

also fitted Carl's 440 injector adpators, perfect fit

i then got sidetracked by my motorbike so nothing else got done

Taking my Sti8 TMIC on/off is a real pain, there is almost no room between the edge of the bulkhead and the throttle body, and you end-up levering and twisting (adding suitable words of encouragement) to get it all to slide into place.

If the weather's bad, leave that 2 wheeled thing alone until the sun shines.

Graham.

Are you SURE you can get the Sti8 TMIC off when it is all bolted together?
It seems very close to the bonnet seal/bulkhead.

Wish I had cut the large tube to the idle valve and saved all the cut/welding, but I thought the risk too high!

Nice job Flat.

Graham.

Looking good Kev. I want to see more pictures of the blue wheels.

You going to be running minus a D/V then?
