Mike I will respond to you yet again !
Maybe its time to get your facts correct not that I should have to justify anything here but I will again to prove a point !
Where have you decided that the interior that I brought from Scoobymania is anything to do with my company !
The car I run is nothing to do with my business, it was purchased by me before I set up my company, most of the modifications were also done before I set up my company, it is insured in my own personal name, it is reqistered to me as an individual & I have never claimed any costs for it through the company or set any of them off against tax !
As far as your records will show I used a Personal credit card to buy the interior, I also note from the Invoice shows my personal name & no mention of my company !!!!

SO WHERE DOES MY BUSINESS ENTER INTO THIS SITUATION AT ALL ? maybe you can explain !

What am I hiding by using another user name !? nothing, As I expected you to do you have made this into a company to company disagreement which as I have stated it certainly is not !

I have made no attack of you personally I have just asked people what they think of the situation. However you have made numerous personal attacks on myself & my company both of which have no impact on the matter in question !

Another interesting point is that I did not pay £700 for the interior. That was the price I was quoted in an email by Mike for cash ex vat . I did not do such a deal as I paid by credit card & therefore Mike explained that I had to therefore pay vat as he would have to put it through the books if I didnt pay vat ! ( I also have emails to back this up, if anyone is interested ) I paid in excess of £900 pounds for the interior including postage!

My last point is that this saga has been dragging on for weeks with Scoobymania taking days to reply to emails & I had to get the door panel repaired as It looked very unsightly. Anyone who knows me will know that I always have the car looking right & I couldnt put up with the door panel looking like that ! Why spend over £50k on a car then have bits looking shabby !

IS £40 to get someone to repair a door panel excessive, I wouldnt have thought so ! It took the guy over an hour to do it & I think he has done a pretty good job ! I have never had a piece of trim repaired before but Im sure that these guys would do any job for less than that (Is this part of the country more expensive for this type of thing than Nottingham Im not sure)

Mike overall I think you have missed the point here. The panel came damaged from you when you stated it was A1. I asked you to pay for the repair which you declined to do. All I did was ask the guys on here if I was being harsh or not. There was no need to make attacks on my company or me for that matter. All I posted was pure fact & I am sure you will agree that that is the case !

NO NEED TO THROW YOUR TOYS OUT OF THE PRAM WHEN SOMEONE DOESNT LIKE THE WAY YOU DO BUSINESS

YOU RUN YOUR COMPANY THE WAY YOU WANT TO & I WILL RUN MINE THE WAY I WANT TO ! JUST DONT EXPECT EVERYONE TO BE HAPPY WITH THE WAY YOU DO !

I would just prefer it if you stuck to facts instead of going off on a tangent about totally unrelated matters !

Nobody has mentioned the Distance Selling Regulations (2000), where the buyer has 7 days "right to cancel" by writing to the vendor and returning the goods for a full refund when goods are bought over the web or by mail order.

I am sorry but IMHO I think you do need to justify what you say seeing as it was you that started this thread on a public forum

I paid £800 for the interior including postage ! As I said I made a typing error & corrected it in the amended post ! However I see little relevance in what I paid for the interior but have nothing to hide so have stated the price !
I along with most other people will always try to sell stuff for as much as possible ! I expect to get the price I have asked for knocked down as most people who buy on Scoobynet want to buy things for as little as possible !
Am I not allowed as a seller to set a starting price for what I am selling & are you not then allowed as buyers to either buy it for that or make a lower offer or not buy it at all ????

Daz34 I think I have justified what I have put. What more is there to justify ? why do I have to justify that the seats were nothing to do with my company ? Can anyone make false allegations which

In responce to Chiaks last point I was led to beleive that the RTM was a private fundtion & that users ids wouldnt be passed onto other users ! Obviously this is not the case !

Also to quote the heading

Need to ask a specific question of a dealer or third party supplier, then do it here.

Also to quote the heading:-

"Dealer and Third Party Supplier Queries

Need to ask a specific question of a dealer or third party supplier, then do it here."

I dont think I was asking a question of a dealer in fact I was asking for an opinion of the other scoobynet users ! I think that the thread has therefore been moved incorrectly !

As a last point this isnt really getting us anywhere & the original question was to quote:-
"DO you think that this is acceptable ? I know the legal position as my sister is a solicitor but on a moral stand is this right?! The legal route is very long winded & for £40 + vat isnt worth it, well thats my current feeling at the moment but who knows"

The thread now seams to have been diluted so much it is no longer answering the question which was posed ! So many diffent non relevant items have been added to the arguement that the orignal question is no longer being answered !

Being new to scoobynet, but not new to owning Impreza`s, i also have found Scoobymania to be a complete pain. Not only in their delivery times, but pricing also. They quote in NON vat forms and dont include delivery either. Stock that i have had delivered has also been damaged (Or not new as far as i am concerened) and would urge everyone to look elsewhere!
When you do e-mail with a complaint, no reply is given. When you try to ring Mike he is never there (Or on the phone. Dealing with complaints probably ) and it takes court action warnings to get a refund.
Take my advice and many others. STAY AWAY!

Think some people on here have been a little judgemental when the whole story doesnt appear to have been told
Welcome to the Scoobynet Witchhunt philosophy.

Rusty/Fulham
I have made no attack of you personally I have just asked people what they think of the situation
Hmm really. Put another way, you've maybe posted on here with the sole intention of getting Scoobymanias name tarnished as much as possible because YOU didn't accept their offer of resolution. If it was so bad you should've sent it back - but you probably knew the worth of the items and what you could sell them on for.
IMO of course.

NO NEED TO THROW YOUR TOYS OUT OF THE PRAM WHEN SOMEONE DOESNT LIKE THE WAY YOU DO BUSINESS
Isn't it you that's thrown all the toys out????

I dont think I was asking a question of a dealer in fact I was asking for an opinion of the other scoobynet users !
Think that's proof you were trying to create a witchunt.

Just out of interest, why are you posting as Rusty and not Fulham?

daveuk

They quote in NON vat forms and dont include delivery either
LOL. What a complete pain. Pretty much like 75% of other companies then?
Being new to scoobynet
Picked up the witchhunt mentality quick didn't you?

As to the A1 interpretation, personally, if something was 2nd hand but described as A1, I'd expect it to have a few marks, especially if it has to be removed from something. It's not new A1, it's used A1. Theres a difference.

I understood that if you are quoting the general public you must quote with VAT. (or state the price and extra VAT amount)

only company to company sales can be quoted exc VAT (as all have the opportunity to claim it back if they are VAT registered)
but all sales must legally inc VAT.

I learned my lesson on never buying again without seeing, after buying some alloy wheels (not on Scoobynet), only 2 out of 4 turned up, and those were no where near as mint condition as described (they needed refurbishing)

There's nothing "trick" about what we're doing or how we do it.

We sell on a global basis and very rarely quote including VAT figures because we can't tell where the person calling on the phone is calling from. Outside the EU, we don't need to charge VAT.

VAT rules are massively complicated as I pointed out in a previous post not long back.

DaveUK, with 3 posts on here only, I doubt you are who you say you are. I suspect I know who you are but can't prove it so I'll let others see if they reach the same conclusion that I have? If you are genuine, mail me a complaint if you have one on the customer service address on my web site and I will deal with it.

Paul.

Your mails were all from your company e.mail address, you yourself mentioned that you were "trade" and gave the impression that you "deal" with interiors and the such like on a repeated basis.

I too could claim that I am just a private individual on here, but the two are impossibly and inextricably linked, particularly when talking about selling ad/or buying stuff.

You want the discounts and profits of a dealer, but the autonomy and sympathy of a "poor, mistreated simple joe public punter".

Maybe you should also report Citoren UK to HMC&E as well, they're also offering brand new cars with no VAT!

Like I say again, with no proof that you didn't cause the damage, and despite the fact that it is second hand stuff (which we don't normally sell), I still made you a fair offer to deal with it.

Everybody is entitled their opinion, this was not a personal attack at all, I am not the one that posted 'snipped' extracts from selective private e.mails on a public forum, <That's net etiquette at its absolute worst by the way>.

Mike
I posted whole emails & will post the whole lot if you want me to, I have nothing to hide !
The interior was for my car simple as that nothing to do with the business
I wont be using your company again & I would ask that you donate your £20 gesture to charity as I have no interest in accpeting it.

CraigH is there any difference here between what I have done & what you have done regarding Dr J Palmer.

We have both not got what we expected or were told we would be given & then not got the result that we had wished for ! We have both posted on Scoobynet about our experiences & I would also go & speak to Mike face to face if he wasnt hours away ! in the same way you will be speaking to Dr Palmer at the Autosport show

As far as I am concerned this is the end of the matter. I hope that ScoobyMania will act in the way that I have suggested.

I wont be posting on this thread again.

Rusty,

No it's not the same. 20+ people are in the same boat as me. The event had certain criteria changed on the day without any discussion at the time or attempts to rectify it.

Rusty - imho your at fault, you should have sent it back. A1 but still 2nd hand not new. Either way you realised it was a good price even factoring in the £40 repair. Surely a call to Mike would have sorted this rather than dragging it through a public forum.

J

I think its time to call TIME on this thread.

Rusty/Fulham

If you still have a problem with Scoobymania, then please take it off-line and either sort it out personally with them or seek LEGAL redress. I'm afraid SN is not a platform to seek resolution of any problems that you may or may not have and you have had advice in response to your query.

Thanks
