I know exactly what your saying bud - I've just gone from a uk turbo 2000 to a V5 Sti Ra. The difference's between the 2 car's is unreal especially the gearing.

alright...also not technically a "type R" but it's the closest thing we yanks got to one, and now it's a lot closer

6spd box inside too, plus the 2.5 liter sti motor.

absolute gobs of torque. Just begs for more throttle. Quite a devil car.

Is that a straight fit or was there a bit of chopping about being done?

There was a bit of cutting and fitting done to make it work. The newage cluster has a different shape so things must be bent a bit to make it fit.

I'm going to drop off the cluster surround piece to a fabricator next time I run out of town by plane so they can make a perfect fitting trim piece.

Honestly, though, it's not such a bad fit. You just need to make sure the top of the trim is heated and bent up a bit so you can see the cluster.
It's just like factory if done right.

Thanks for the comment flo555. I'm pretty much finished with her, but I'll add a few things here and there when I have a weekend where I feel like wrenching to blow off steam/relieve stress.

Glad you all enjoyed

Dash was done by some friendly folks in the northeast of the USA. They are very good at sorting out scoobys up there!

I changed my UK My00 turbo for a Type R (after a stripped out 220bhp 205 mi16 though) and it is a vastly superior car.

You will pay anything from £7k to £10k depending on mileage and condition.

I paid £11k for mine but then she is rather special!

Good luck!
