my advice, and prob others...if its dry then leave it open. Just beware of planting the foot if the cars not straight. Feed it instead. If its wet, lock it up 1-2 notches. If its icey, use wifes car....

From what i can gather the sti engine seems pretty robust as long as you treat it like any other. Same with the gearboxes for that matter.
Was going to buy a celica myself till i was introduced to my friends scooby. Just a wrx (import) but amazing. Glad i made the right choice. Hope youre happy with your type r. Probably one of the most ***** out scoobies made i reckon...

Definite way of saving an expensive engine rebuild is regular oil changes, Warming up and cooling down, Remap for the fuel you run. I have had my type r 6 years and had no bother right until i changed the turbo for a MD195 and have developed a slight head agsket blow, So time for pistons rods, gas flowed head, set of Kent Cams, modified oil pump and cooler, grp A steel head gasket, arp head bolts and a remap.

Think you misunderstand mate, the way you originally phrased it made it sound like you were giving it away... I was joking. (see pic above for what Im getting)
On a serious note, see post #1615 on page 54 - If you want some advice, just let me know. I sold mine at the full asking price in less than a week (last week).
Jeff.
