Well... a quick update on my Type R wannabe...

(the RED ONE!)

You should be able to see a little something hinding under the hoodscoop (hint: classic Imprezas didn't come turbo'd from the factory here...)

I know, I know. I had to sacrifice the wheels in order to get the drivetrain

Don't think I'll be buy 18s again though. I'm going to work on changing the color of the meshies on the car right now.

Here's a better shot of the meshies:

I also have 17" Volk Racing TE37s done in black, similar ot the R34 Z-tune Skyline, Seen here

I've a PFC & Commander on my Type R, very good bit of kit for the money. Will make the power delivery much better. Get your chosen mapper to talk you through how to use the Commander. Just out of interest, who will be doing the mapping?
not specifically bhp but mid range thump , thinking upgrade to andy f turbo, got heat wrapped turbo up pipe (not sure whether worth the hassle?) 3 port solenoid, injectors (440?) upgradred fuel pump , hks decat , sti panel filter thats all at present including pfc. not sure about mapping could holiday in scotland and book in at andy f ortherwise someone in the south west who comes recommended????????

corky-type-r

In that case, id imagine that as a rough bhp guideline around the 350 - 360 figure would be worth looking at to provide mid range thump and retaining reasonable spool.

Personally, Id look at:

Cooling: a newage TMIC (a bit less messing about than a front mount and cheaper, assuming you're on a phase 2 engine)

Induction: A good induction kit with a cold air feed from the bumper and some form of heatshield from the rest of the engine bay/radiator area

Fuelling: SX fuel pressure reg, 550cc injectors (although you may get away with keeping the 440's for that kind power with the adjustable fuel reg)

Turbo: Im not sure you need a whacking great turbo so maybe a VF35 might be worth looking at, Im pretty sure with supporting mods you'd get 350 out of one or one of Andy's TD05 18g turbos

Mapping: Not sure about the South West but I believe Jolly Green Monster (Simon) is based in the South and he seems to have a good rep on here, Id try him first. Just to point out I am only going off recent communication with him plus the fact that a friend of mine who does Apexi mapping in Lancashire knows him and I've heard him mention him in a good light on several occassions. Failing that, I can recommend someone in Lancs who is fairly well respected in the community or just make the long hike upto Port Seton and see Andy

All just IMO

Thank the lord

Whats with the Veyron?

By the way, can I recommend that you sign up for a free Photobucket account to host your pics? You'll find it much less hassle with posting on here

Yep.. its a beast alright, although (and without trying to "pollute" this thread too much) this is what would be at the top of my shopping list if the magic numbers came up...

Can anyone tell me how many turns my steering wheel should move on my v.ltd? (quickrack). Think it might have been swapped at a certain garage....Its 2.7 now and i'm sure it should be 2.2/3

This is a long shot:

Do any Type R owners/mechanical types know the way the dccd is installed in the Type R's?

got a MY98 box with dccd for my hillclimber which does not have dccd at the moment.
Need any advise / knowledge.

Thanks, Graham.
