Well,
After nearly 3 Yrs I may be leaving TypeR Ownership.

Ive sold the new 2.5 engine (Still in the box) but decided to keep the 20G and other parts for the next car.

This Type R has been just about the most reliable and 'believe it or not', the least expensive cars to own.

Benefits of buying something extensively modified already

I have to say, that owning a Type R has been the coolest thing, as we are just so 'unique' when compared to 4 door Scooby and EVO owners.

The questions is, will I still be the coolest dad on his estate, with a Newage STI? Even with 380BHP???? Most people go for the looks

Cheers Jay_bee. Even nicer to drive. Was visiting relatives today with my folks and had the back end stepping out coming off a roundabout. Think my old dear needed a new pair of trousers!

None in my V5 either...

Have you tried removing ALL the loose stuff in the cabin and glove box first to see what kind of difference that might make...?

How old is it?

TYPE-R will give you a nasty bite and I think only the best drivers can master it (and im not claiming to be one).

Because it is wet at the moment I have DCCD set at one green up nearly constantly - this aids stability considerably. The car is butt-end happy as it is without slippery roads.

Plus side is the sideways action you can have on roundabouts etc!! Just practice and learn to pull that steering wheel back sharpish - when your pointing the right way LOL

Yup!

It has an Electric Subaru factory sunroof and electric pack heated and cooled seats.

Not quite the rally replica style

BOB,

Your car needs the STI6 splitter to finish off the front.

Only £108.00 from Subaru.

Doug,

Why did your engine need a rebuild? I thought it was new?

The guy that had it before me had an oil cooler fitted just after buying it from Peccy. 3wks later, a stone went through it totally knackering the engine! Unlucky i guess. The Scoobyclinic rebuilt it and its now running like a gem with a bit of tweeking by AndyF.

Good advert for oil coolers

I guess there is a lesson about meshing over them.
