New clarkson DVD
Ive driven an EVO FQ 300 on a test drive and all i can say is they ARE that bloody fast, ive got a scooby WRX running bout 235bhp but the EVO feels like a 400bhp monster.
Just cant afford it thi
, Plus silly running cost's.
Blitz.

I've booked a test drive in a FQ330 (when it comes in)
I'm not sure a FQ300 would be any quicker than my 310bhp Type R.
I can't see the 330 being any quicker to 60 but I should imagine it will be a second or so faster to 100.
I'm not expecting to go up in performance (it'll be hard to do).
If things go well this comming year I'll go for a GTR34.
I change my mind every two minutes about cars. This is the list so far. No real order.
Skyline GT-R34
Evo VIII FQ330, MR or Extreme
Spec C (if I can get past the looks)
993 C2S Porsche
TVR Cerbera 4.5
Audi S4 ??
M3 (had my name down for one untill things went pear shaped and I ended up by chance with the scoob, but thats another story!)

Thats my list - minus the new noble (not so plasticky one)
Although i'm sure we all know the car to have is the VX220 Turbo - how funny did clarkson look in it - reminded my of oversized noddy in tiny car. LOL

If money was no object, the list would be longer and not include half of that lot. But for the money, I can't think of much better.
Not keen on the VX220, never have been. Firstly the looks, and secondly, it's not very practical as an every day car.
Your right though, Clarckson did look a bit of a **** in that car, but doesn't he always?

I'm a little unsure accuracy of the vid... If you wtach it, the sequence is made up of several shots. In one you can clearly see the scoob out of the side window of the audi, about level with the wing mirror\door. This about matches the figures auto car produced in the 0-100-0 challenge done each year. The EVo by this stage has cleared off! Now i'm not knocking the Evo or making escuses for the Scoob. But the vid doesn't seem to match the figures... for the cars!
Autocar's figures are genraly acurate and give a good idea what the gap would be. 0-60 4.6 against 5.08 =.48 of a second, at 60 mph or 12 metres this would equate to around three cars lengths.
And @ a ton the gap is 1.1 seconds. Now the EVo in the vid simply pulls so hard from the start both the scoob and audi are left by more than a second just when setting off! Looking back from the EVO the other two are left standing.
The Autocar 0-100 figures for the S4 is 12.99 and the M3 did it in 12.2 this should mean on the road basicly nothing in it!
A 1 second gap is not what is shown on the video, it should be 44.17 metres, yet EVO has just gone!
As been shown in various tests carried out by mags before, suppliers have often massaged the car to make it look better, makes you think!
Although 44 metres isn't a small amount it looks much more on the vid, saying that a TVR would be 140 metres infront of the EVO! Don't mess with a Tuscan!
personly I'm not bothered that the evo is quicker, it is! but I didnn't pay £550 for my second service and I get more than 16.1mpg and still have a better looking fast car!
