The std box is no where near capable of flowing enough air for a 2.5 litre, as far as maf robustness it depends on what Model year car and how its mounted etc.

A custom map to a specific car will always be better, by how much would depend on what other changes you decided to make. Bear in mind that the remap cost would be a full cost and that your warranty would be at risk. I have remapped a few previously PPP cars now but owners had also fitted full decats etc.
and yes its more than a blast its a bit neck snapping, It has full boost by 3400 rpm !!! And its making that in all gears bar 1st when it manages 1.4 bar.

The new turbo requires some serious consideration, as is the car is supremely quick on A and B roads, its literally neck snapping, I haven't felt the same effect since my son ended up in hospital following a "test" session in my Sti2 wagon !!! Moray you will recall how quick THAT was to accelerate, so considered thinking, ideas already formulated which will probably include the removal of existing turbo as the donor, open mind so all suggestions gratefully received, I have my ideas but open to any other thought's.
I think the best analogy is "two wheel drive Cossie" since the rear has a habit of snapping out with impunity, btw I normally run with DCCD in manual.

And if you make a proper induction kit that pulls the ambient (re colder air) in, there is potentially even more than the 369 hp to come. Cooler charge temps and all that. 15 degrees less on the charge temp should make some big differences
Go on Bob, give it a try, I'm curious before you fit the new turbo!

Apparantly I'm "some sort of lunatic" according to the Honda Set !!! Although to be fair he had NO idea of what to expect.
I know I like to "move on" ... can't be that bad can I ? ... lol

If the existing turbo was not pegged on the limit then I'd agree John but I've "rung its neck" at this level and so I need to change to move on. hence the "thought process"

Lol
BRD DP
HKS Super Drager BB and CC.
APS Cold Air Kit
3 Port Solenoid
Forge Recirc valve.
Will get the Wastegate actuator and maybe the larger air kit soon.
I've now covered about 200 miles in since the map and it is absolutely gobsmacking. Boost is just instant and it really does pull like a big normally aspirated car from low down, all the way to the rev limit.
PHAT ? Most definitely
