still thinking/being tempted....! was reading thru thread again and saw that it was just to register ur interest. in that case "registering interest"! my cars off the road for the winter just now, and when he returns he having a few wee mods done (new turbo maybe!), so was wondering how the group buy works in practice - will there have to be a certain date for the Gems to be done? what if the cars not ready for then? was concerned by MAF sensor question as above - i've had problems with my maf cos induction kit fitted. new maf on the shopping list! what was the answer? also, where is re-map done? know i'm gonna have to travel couple 100 miles but just how far? cheers

Hi Miss Scooby.

Well the last group buy ran a little like this when you had decided to go for the GEMS then Steve asked for a 50% deposit for your order. Then the final 50% when customer had System fitted. Steve can come to you for fitment but charges a mileage charge think its mentioned on his reply. On page one of this thread. I give the guy that was asking about the Maf sensor Steves Number to discuss the question can do the same for you if you wish. Please email me and I will email you back with Steves number

Hi Andy.

In My belief GEMS is a fantastic way of improving your car and especially if at a later date you wanna modify the car with afetrmarket products such as a exhaust filter or more drastic including turbo and intercoolers or stuff like that. If you want I can give you Steve Simpsons phone number so you can talk through the benefits of the upgrade with the guy who would be mapping your car. To my knowledge it would be option 5 that your car would fall into.

If you want Steve Simpsons numebr give me a email and i will send you his number.

Well Splitter if everyone agrees we could go ahead with it earlier as Steve ahs mentioned he would be willing to do less cars but would be a £75 increases in prices for ECU and mapping although no mention on increase on Active Diff control

Talking

GEMS can either run MAF sensor or do away with it and run a MAP based system. I chose the latter on my STi8 which gives you more freedom of choice for induction / air filter kits
