Why do you say he's rude? I've met him and found him to be charm personified. Then again I suppose I wasn't one of his vassals.

A rich tosser with a yacht and top quality women coming out of every orifice. Sounds like a nightmare lifestyle, I'd much rather swap it for the mundane existance of some of his detractors . Go Eddie!

1993: During his first GP at Suzuka Irvine twice unlapped himself after being lapped by Ayrton Senna. After which he made headlines by being punched by Senna in the Jordan motorhome. During the argument Senna accused Irvine of almost hitting him, to which Irvine responded: "A miss is as good as a mile." And after the legendary punch he yelled "Insurance claim there!"
1994: Still with Jordan Irvine was asked to take part in a photo shoot, but at the time was not interested. He told team boss Eddie Jordan: "Do I have to? Send out some f**ker in my helmet, they'll never know the difference"
2000: Irvine denied that his ambition was to be Britain's No1 driver: "It's not significant at all. I might just as well still be doing British F3. It carries no weight at all, does it? I might sell a few more hats, but that's not what I am in F1 to do."
Irvine proclaims he is No2 in F1: "You know there is no-one in the pit lane that is better than me, except for Michael. I have no doubts about that."
003: Irvine announced that the 2002 Japanese Grand Prix was his final F1 race. "It's a sad day. I have decided not to drive in Formula One this year - or at least at the moment. In July last year I made up my mind to drive for Jordan Grand Prix. I had very strong feelings about returning to the team which started my F1 career. Unfortunately, due to the economic downturn, Jordan are forced to look for a driver who brings extra funds to the team whilst I can only bring speed, reliability and greater experience. It's a shame because I really would have enjoyed the rule changes, especially single-lap qualifying."
Yup, grade A to$$er

Good job your life isn't up for examination in its minutia eh? Heresay and supposition don't make someone a tosser. IMHO he's no more a w*nker than the rest of us-LOL. Nice guy and he picked up the bar bill when there even bigger earners than him in the place.

If he killed someone he'd have enough money to pay the same compensation that an insurance company would. That being the case I'd say this is a mere technicality.
My opinion of him isn't based on the drink buying BTW, more the way he welcomed a group of strangers into his party and made us feel like old friends. The mark of a true man's man, full of funny stories too.

No problem-although if it were cocktails at $30 a pop like Ed paid for I'd be a bit more circumspect.

Once again NACRO hits the nail on the head.... his observations on both the UK in general, people and Eddie are spot on IMO..
Good on ya mate, I'll back ya all the way with an outlook like that.

Jye- I just carefully read your quotes regarding our mutual hero- all of which reinforce my point about what a top man he is.

Yeah I guess its how you take them NACRO. I still prefer people with a bit of humility tbo, but then I work mainly with people who get a rough deal in life, no pretentious millionaire racing drivers here m8.
One woman I'm working with atm is just out of jail for non payment of a fine, a fine for having no TV licence.
If ever I had his chance in life I'd be a bit more appreciative.
Cheers

I hate to say it but false humility is for losers.
However modesty is the mark of an individual worthy of respect.

Yeah, its shocking. If she has to go to jail because she cant afford a fine as she's up to her eyeballs in debt for various valid reasons, it just seem wrong that other people can escape the law just because they can afford to pay their way out of trouble.
They say dont do the crime if you cant do the crime but what does that mean when you are loaded.
A crime should carry a jail sentence or a fine, one or the other. People who have no insurace should be jailed, people who dont pay for our glorious BBC should get a medal.
Its a ****ty system m8.

As you haven't met him and can only comment on his persona as portrayed by the media I suggest you might like to STFU
