True John it is the honest approach, which I appreciate even if the message isn't good.
Am I banned from going under the SIDC banner or is it a blanket ban? I assume that its a blanket ban but if that's the case, why did it not come direct from Bedford?
If I rec'd an invite to a corporate day, either from a client or one of those red letter day type things, would I be allowed to attend? (That assumes I sign on as Mr R.S. Tavia)

its a full ban, not SIDC only.
"In granting this permission Jonathan Palmer gave the club a list of people that would not be welcome back to his circuit, due to comments they made on Scoobynet"

Certainly sounds like it's a blanket ban then. In which case, as Tavia said, the notification should come from Bedford Autodrome and not the SIDC. Seems like SIDC is having to be the bearers of bad tidings as they are the ones trying to organise the track day. I don't think this is very fair on the SIDC.
I could speculate wildly as to why Bedford Autodrome have not informed people directly, but I shan't, as it's not constructive this thread.

How can you be banned under a bbs user name? what would have happened had "bumcrack" or "sheepsplitter" been 2 of the Scoobynet members than were involved?
Would have made for an interesting poster on the gates "Johnathon Palmer wishes to remind Bumcrack he can't come in"

I wasn't there on the day
I did comment on the original thread
I wasn't critical of JP/Palmersport, but I did have a private rational email exchange with him about it
I haven't been banned
I've been to Bedford twice this year, both freebies (once courtesy of Vauxhall, second time courtesy of EVO mag, and had the bad manners to beat their VX220 Turbo track time ) and had a great time
Hmmm.....I wonder if my Golf R32 will get past the noise meter......
If anyone feels they have been wrongly banned, and DOES want to go back to Bedford in the future, I would suggest a polite personal approach to JP might just be the right way to do it

I would first like to state that i attended the day and I posted in the said SN posts and have NOT been banned ( I don’t have a email)
I attended the Bedford day on the 30th Nov last year, at considerable expense (750mile round trip, 2 nights accommodation, 1 day lost wages),
I chose Bedford because i was told it was the best place to for safety, very professional outfit etc..
My opinions have changed, I believe this fiasco could have been handled better by all parties, some more to blame than others.
Will i go to Bedford again?
I’m not sure,
I would have to think long and hard about attending a venue run by a company that behaves in such a manner as to alienate a portion of its business with such disregard.
Would I attend Bedford associated with SN or SIDC
Definitely not, the scars from this fiasco will live with any day organised through SN or SIDC for a long time to come
At the end of the day its there loss
Note,
This post deserves to be discussed, it is a valid topic, as long as it stays on topic, and does not turn into a slanging match.
I believe it is important to discuss topics such as this, if this community is to grow and mature.

The stupid thing about this is the knock effect.
I WAS in the process of arranging a track day at Bedford for BMW Z4 owners( No hairdresser jokes please). All bar a couple have never been on track so thought Bedford would be a suitabley safe venue for a virgin track day.
At this stage I cannot see how it could possibly take place if I am not allowed to attend.
Will take my business elsewhere.

Ditto.
A member of Briskoda.net is arranging a track day for the poor Skoda people. We can't go there now as TaviaRS can't go.
Or maybe it's a good reason to go there

Well I have my own personal views on this, but seeing as voicing my personal opinion on a public bbs has also got me banned, then I will pick my words carefully. I have no wish to bring the board into disrepute, or upset Simon and Shaun.
All I will say is this: Will I attend Bedford again? No
I was there on the day in question. I attended as a spectator. My car was not on track. I didn't get involved with any discussions or arguments with any members of staff at the track.
I chose to voice my opinions about the incidents of the day. For that I'm banned.
Everyone here is free to make their own decisions on whether this is right. Everyone also has a choice on where to spend their money on track days... I'll leave that decision to you.

Definately for comments on the thread, cos I wasn't there.
Although just how the hell JP knows who I *am* is beyond me....

Diablo - that is what I want to know, how on earth does JP/BA know that Diablo is <insert real name here>?
Can someone explain to me how someone can be banned by thier username on a BBS? If the person is banned by their real name, then the question is who gave JP/BA the person's real name? and did they ask the person before doing so? I tread carefully here as we are in a speculative minefield, and I am not accusing anyone.
Diablo - I only use your name as you mentioned how people know who you are, no offence intended by this.

John - that's what shocked me too! I personally know a few of the people on there, plus the others I have heard of and as said they are respected members of SN and also of the trackday fraternity.
Diablo - you're right, no idea who you actually are lol
I think I have said more than enough on here, so I'm going to just lurk on this thread and watch from now on, don't want to cause any trouble.

OK - this will be my final post on this (honest, but I do reserve the right to change my mind ).
I've just looked through all three threads that John Felstead posted up on page 3. There were more than 30 pages of posts (so that is getting on for more than 600 posts in total). My sum total input was two posts.

My understanding is that the emails came from the SIDC to SIDC members only? is that not the case? If so,how did the SIDC know that "dba" is a member? Why was it assumed that I am a member of the SIDC and thus require a banning email?

To dispell any other rumours the club has not disclosed ANY information to Bedford. The list was compiled by Bedford from THE Scoobynet post. MEMBERS DETAILS ARE COVERED UNDER THE DATA PROTECTION ACT and would not be disclosed without The Members permission.
I appreciate that some of you may feel unfairly done by, if this is the case you can of course contact Mr Palmer.
I hope I have answered the questions asked
So .... Why where the noise limits changed on the day??? Was any money refunded??? Seems to me that mr palmer cant always have his cake and eat it. Sounds to me that some members have a bloody good right to be unhappy...

Nice one JP, my company were in the process of booking a corporate trackday at Bedford, if they treat Scoobynet members like this there no way the booking will go ahead.
