thursday aft boredom
quote by jza
"Why did you buy a performance car in the first place? Get a Sport and add the turbo's kit and it'll make your willie feel just as big!!!"
perhaps you need the car as a pseudo phallus mate but some of us are not penally inadequate and would like to spend more time driving and less time indulging in self satisfaction of the 5 knuckle type over an ornament.
unhappily driving as one should it drinks juice ,the point of a cheaper fuel source being able to afford to drive the thing more and more.
after all if someone offered you half price petrol youd buy it making you the same as the rest of anyone here -just looking for a cheaper fuel source
richie
remember there are primative people in the world who feel a camera can steal a mans soul
this is because they are ignorant and afraid.
in the uk we are generally better because we were educated .some of us are still scared though and the rest of us must pity them in their ignorance.
ps the 01 ecu may be good but the car looks like a turd.
just an opinion
richie

Wouldn't it be funny if you actually got *better* performance from LPG than petrol
I understand though that the injection pressure from LPG is not high enough for turbo cars... You would need a pressurisation pump?? expensive...

By the way, careful when knocking turbo diesels... Talked to a guy about a chipped VW 1.9 Diesel... 180bhp ...320 lb/ft!!! std exhaust etc. Powerband thinner than a *****'s thong mind you

JZA- Think your missing the point
Do you understand the english language or just read what you want to ?

1/ Babber does alot of mileage
2/ He's fed up with filling up twice sometimes in a day.
3/ Theres no difference when cruising on the motorway running on LPG or unleaded.
4/ He still wants the performance for weekends.
5/ He very lairy and considering coming to the Hereford and Worcester meet with the purpose of having a quiet word with you.

You must be on a wind-up !!!
Not even you with your fancy graphics are that stupid. Are you ?

Anyway what do you think about my idea ?
Is it possible to fit gull wing doors on my 97 wagon ?
Have allreday welded them up and use car everyday Dukes of Hazzard style.
Do you know anyone who could make a good job of putting the general lee flag on the roof ?
Have allready painted orange.
What tyres do you recommend for forest dirt tracks ?

Cheers to you

Jason

P.S.

Sorry cant' do fancy Smilies (wish I had the inclination )

Just for the record, my opinion on this matter is private. However, I thought you LPG had adverse effects on the turbo.....

Just my 2p - no flames pleeze.

hope i didn't upset him ,perhaps hes on his way down to bristol then to me for an intellectual debate on the merits of lpg or otherwise.
ps no probs phill i quite enjoyed it cos i'am an argumentative little(big) sod and i hate to see genuine attempts to increase knowledge (which may benefit all of us here) shot down with mindless abuse.
while on this thread why dont a group of you with couple of quid spare buy a legacy turbo real cheap, get it converted and then try to break it at least then weell know if it works on a turbo, and even if it goes pop there will still be a shedfull of useful bits left to recoup most of the cost.(i'd do it bit i only make 14k a year so spare cash is not always an option

Any one got any ideas on converting a sport?

LPG seems much more widely availiable recently with most new style BP stations selling it as far as I can tell. The only thing that worries me is that it is going to take 2-3 years of cut price fuel for me to recoupe the inital outlay and at the moment BP seem to have a monopoly on it round my way. This could allow them to put the prices up (or govenment may start taxing it) and mean in a years time it won't be that much cheaper.

I must confess to being interested in LPG. I spend approx 175 - 200 per week on super+, now someone says I should be able to pay approx this? Am I interested? Are bears catholic etc...? Obviously I am mad for wanting to pay half as much for comparable performance and economy.

What colour is the sky in your world Jza? Apologies if thats a rude question - I'm new to this.

No mate - id buy a 306-turbo D, get it chipped (they respond amazingly to chipping) and not then worry about MPG and still get a decent ride!!! Id be £10k better off and get 50mpg to boot.

PS Nice gif's!!

Spoke to someone at Tileys of Bristol yesterday about LPG, and they did say that the warranty would be void, so that's the end of that.

Might revisit in a couple of years once the technology has been developed better, and warranty is up.

In the meanwhile, I saw a web site that talked about putting solar panels on a Scooby. LoL Have to look into that.............

Cheers to you, Phill C.

I picked up a copy of the LPG magasine, and it said that although the phase 1 conversions are not suitable for turbo cars thet the phase 2 will be when it comes out. They didn't say when that would be though.
