Rob called earlier, Blitz induction kit dont fit with the HKS pipes. Doh!

So now going to buy a HKS induction kit.

I guess thats one way HKS dont let you have a Blitz part on your car. pmsl

Right.....
Unfortunately i have been busy as hell on franks car today so pics werent happening, have just taken a couple before packing away.
Car is running, as Frank heard
Left to do:
Tidy up Breathers, i had to route pipes everywhere as it was getting dark and i wanted the car started before packing away for the night.
Fit fuel pump.
Make new inlet pipe for filter, it is tighter than a nuns crutch with the FMIC pipes, but not a problem.
Source a new Power steering res O ring, i reused the old one for the later res and TBH didnt expect it to seal, but i had to try it leaking very slightly... Not going to run the car again until i have sorted the res.
Change the throttle cable over.
put some tape on the FPR fittings, one has a very slight leak.
Wire in Later TPS, not a prob.

Gonna have a beer, a bath and then get ready for Work.... It wants to be better at the club tonight!!!!

My helper/Aprentice..

Nice one Rob, busy man eh?

Here's a pic of the HKS if you are interested guys. Prob around half the width, but the adaptor that bolts to the air flow meter will make it a tight fit.

Warning ! butcher at work...

ON a more serious note, will the bonnet shut without kinking this pipe ? might be better lower or with a 90 degree union on it ??

**** me ! you've done well there, all that in few evenings !

James, once i have fitted the bracket to the FMIC pipe the pipe will be about an inch and a half higher, this will be just right.
Once the adaptor is on it will fit much better as well, the Blitz bolts straight on to the MAF, no adaptor so it is quite tight.
Due to the HKS design and the pipe being fixed properly it will all fit nicely

Andy, PMSL @ Butcher..... Its ok Frank I only had to Reshape the front bumper
The Pipe to the fuel Reg sits fine with about 2" spare.

Needed to Chill today but managed to get most of what i needed done.
Friend of mine had an inlet pipe, Maf is bolted up awaiting HKS filter, will be a perfect fit... as you will see if you scroll down.
Andy, checked the reg again and it was very close, good call to move the reg...
Tried a new circular O ring on the Power steering res, i read a while back that they do not work and that the Subaru part is flat rather than circular. Well, that is correct, still slight leakage so subaru part it is then. Breathers sorted, Pavlo is machining some bungs for me to replace the sockets used for the Purge valve etc...
All vacumn pipes sorted.

So...
Fuel pump didnt get done today, started gettin dark.. (scared of the dark see)
TPS wiring left to do, have diagram in front of me.
Hardwire Knocklink and Lambdalink.
Some other bits that i cant remember :P

Gloves for all occaisions

You can see where the HKS will go..

Good suggestion Andy..

Was supposed to be Left and Right PMSL

Lol @ the motec

That blue pipe on the FPR and the BOV isn't the "vacuum" hose that samco do is it ?
Bob Rawle advised me when I was fitting some pipes to mine that this type of pipe cannot handle boost pressure and "balloons" up.
I used small braided fuel hose for mine in the end.

Andy

Lol, the missus is the Diver Warmest Hat i have ever worn.... So i knicked it off her PMSL!!

Gloves are Air suit gloves, same thing Except not wet

One of the more memorable things that has happened over the last couple of days, once we got round to switching the ignition on for the first time i asked Ed to do the honours whilst i looked under the bonnet, Ed reached into the window to turn the key and....

Just as he switched the Ign on, next door let off an Air bomb firework both of us jumped a mile, proper good timing All kinds of Blue air!!

Might be worth thinking about in the future mate, was no probs at all on mine with the bonnet open at 1.6bar (Power Eng).
Not saying that it doesnt happen.
Rob

Tell ya what, i am going to test some of the hoses with my compressor tomorrow, i am very interested to see what pressure they do ballon up at. I do know that The silicone vacumn pipe only has to have a very small nick in it and it will tear badly.
Got a Shed full of Samco can test some differnt diameter pipes to destruction.... better get the body armour out

Edited cause i just re read and cant believe i asked you where to get fuel hose from

Update......

Lambdalink and Knocklink soldered in, Knocklink workin fine and multimeter readings showing voltage at the plug for the Lambdalink with the ign on (ie. heater voltage).
Tps Wired in, all sorted

All that is left to do is clean the headers, and Frank is bringing a new O ring over with the HKS filter tomorrow night.

This is the first scoob i have heard properly with a set of headers on, i like it!! Sounds f*ckin mental!! Not sure my neighbours will agree once the O ring is sorted and it can be heard properly.

Frank, save my phone bill they are both identical.

No pics today, i'd also like to publically apologise to Frank for the mud on his mats may need a clean... Sorry dude

Frank/Rob

It would be worthwhile trying to 'box in' the air filter to draw cold air from somewhere. Pulling hot air in through the rad can sap quite a bit of power.

Cheers Andy

The wing has a nice big whole in it now so cold air can come from that.Im trying to get a mate to sort out a little holder/box to separate the filter so it doesnt draw in hot air like you said

It is if you want to run an inlet pipe underneath it, without completely replumbing everything in sight.

But I have noticed that prodrive, even now, use the old style low manifold
