Kev

VHS would be fine. Do you want the footage on VCD, which will play on most computers with a CD or DVD drive and most modern domestic DVD players, or on VHS?

Hi Kev, was wondering who owned 'that' cossie, well done to a fellow Fifer! Saw your quickest run and wondered if the timer was reading correctly!
Not seen you about mate, I stay in KDY.

Superb time, but what would make a stripped out Cossy weigh 1400kgs ?? They arent that heavy surely. Even a sierra is in the 1200kg range.
Still amazing that you manageed those times fairly consistently through the day. As much as I dont like Fords in general ( sierras and escorts ) it was an awesome performance. It doesnt even make any noise, and externally looks fairly standard, although inside it is anything but standard.

What does it go like without gas ??

a standard small turbo escos lux weighs in at around 1460 kg
the 7speed box in it weighs half as much again as a standard 5speed
the 9" diff in the back has the same weight disadvantage
hence the car still weighs in at a hefty 1410 kg
the 10.88/132 mph run was without gas
i dont know about it not making any noise....are you sure you have the right car? LOL

Sounded pretty quiet to me considering. Even if it didnt stay very close for long to hear it.

Your car will do some amazing times on a grippier surface. Crail that day was very slippy. Get to Santa Pod, or Elvington.

Best I could manage was a 13.29 in my Granada, but 1st and 2nd gears were totally useless. I had hoped for low 12's.
I had previously done 12.5 at Elvngton in seriously hot weather, so it gives a rough idea of the difference in traction between the two.
Compared to Elvington, I lost about .3 sec in the first 60 feet, and a hell of a lot more in the next couple of hundred feet.
Crail is slippy.

Yep, it was mine. Rover V8 twin turbo. The guy running the event asked me back over for some Ford day on the 28th Oct, so will be trying to get over for that if the weather is good.
Have to see if I can get a set of slicks though. Road tyres are useless.

a couple of times i blipped back on throttle too quick and crunched 4th gear. another once or twice towards the end of the day i used the clutch changing from 1st to 2nd i was starting to lose concentration....the effect of g-force on the brain eh
