Quick tussle with 355 GTS

They need reving through the gears to get the best out of them, great car, seriously fast but a bit twitchy, but if the chap was trying I am surprised you kept up (but then he may not have a clue how to drive it )
Test in sport auto 10/1994
Gewicht 1444 kg
0 - 80 km/h 3,9 s
0 - 100 km/h 5,1 s
0 - 120 km/h 6,7 s

0 - 200 km/h 18,4 s
Vmax 290 km/h
0-100 mph 10.9s really quick
Scooby STI's tend to be 13.5 secs odd

Ferraris performance figures are a tad optimistic!
Had a race with a 355 a couple of weekends ago
Beautiful car, the sound of that flat plane crank V8 @ 9000rpm is summat else, i'd sell my gran for one but...
We raced for about 6 miles, motorway & dual carriageway.
He was taking it to 10000 rpm to try and get past me yet my lowly stage 2 cossie (2wd) was *just* quicker in a straight line, time after time.
5k cossie V 50k Ferrari
I'd rather have the 355 of course but it sure felt good to beat him.
Turned out he works with a mate of mine & wants to hook up for some 0-60 comparisons.
Get a bit more practice launching the saff and I might take him up on it

To be fair, F355s aren't that fast.. and certainly don't feel it without the kick in the back that a turbo car would give. I think Ferraris official figures are optimistic, at best (and are from the earlier, less restricted versions)
Quite underwhelmed with mine I was.

Ferrari Video
I later followed you round as a passenger in Cem's blue R34, I think he was running around 440bhp at the time with a shed load of torque. The Skyline was definatly faster in a straight line, hard to say about the bends because you were not pushing it due to the F355 being a target for everyone on the track to pass.

They don't rev that high (or at least they shouldn't ).....
My pa has one, so I am not talking out my ***.. They should hit the limiter around 8750 iirc.
I'll agree that certain cheaper cars like scoobs and cossies when modded can keep up (at least to a ton) but this is a reflection of how easy it is to make a car go fast these days. You are paying for the WAY in which a Ferrari goes fast, rather than the figures alone. And no Impreza, Evo, Skyline, Cossie comes close to the driving experience IMHO.
