Minty, I forgot to say, you want 22B arches, you get 22B arches mate However, if you don't sort your wheels out so that they fit said arches, I'll hunt you down like a dog and kick you in the nuts

Good luck

PS, 1300 quid doesn't sound too daft to me

I think the kit looks excellent!

But and a big but, its to overpriced. £1295 + vat for a new kit (and thats not really for a new kit, thats just a company trying to get rid of their stock - normally they are over £2k easily).

Anyway then you have to look at spraying and fitting is a pain in the ***! And you need a good bodyshop and its still not 100% they will do it correctly as they would have never done it before.

Then you need the right wheels.

Say good bye to about £5000 i reckon! lol

And if you are going to spend that much, might as well go for the Trial Kit which is about the same sort of price.

Looks brill though

If you are gonna spend 5K on a kit etc you may as well sell your car, put the 5K for the kit on top of your car money and save for a real 22B.

The kit if done properly will look Very good, but if the wheels aint sorted, it will look like a kitted Nova with standard steel wheels!!!

You will have to look up the track on a 22B and your Car and then go from there I guess!

Agree entirely with the comments suggesting you spend the money on things that will actually make your car work better.

By the time you've got it fitted, it'll cost a bomb, and, even if you can get the track/offset sorted, it'll still look obviously fake cos it's got too many doors.

BTW if this thing fits the cut of your jib, there is/was an STi version 4 in For Sale with one of these kits already fitted. IMHO it looked a bit silly because the wheels hadn't been altered to suit, but if you want something like this, you'd be better off getting that car (think he wanted £12-13K) than spending out for your own kit. Even better, get a real 22B.

Oh, 600lbs heavier? There's a bit of filler in a 22B's rear arches, but nowhere near that much!

I too was (still am) interested in this conversion but can't locate any kits... Genuine arches are interesting tho...

The link is to an old post about a 4 door kit.. that's no use...

I'd leave my car silver tho...

and -each to their own. It'd be a sad world if we all had the same...

I like it - makes car look so much better.

Good points mentioned in thread though about the power/mods alternative.

I think it would look Smart on a 2 door (Mine).

Been the Mods / Handling route

Where do I get one for a Type R V5?

The 22b has spacers AFAIK. (Just 5 hole flanges by the looks of it)

To set the record straight the 22B had most of its sound deadening removed but still ended up weighing in at an extra 66lb (must have hit a wrong key there Adam) However, its extra 200cc more than made up for this. Its unique wide body may have effected its aerodynamics at high speed but no one can question that it is one of the best looking imprezas to be produced and will always be the holy grail.

Body kits will generally add weight, although in the photographs shown the body shop appeared to remove the original steel wings and replace them with fibreglass 22B copies. This would in fact lighten the vehicle although I question its structual integrity.

Original 22B front and rear wings are still available although they come as raw pressings and need to be professionally cut out and fitted and could be modified to fit a four door. What a unique vehicle that would be. Sort out your wheels and track, and be the most popular guy at a scooby meet, your ears will bleed with questions.

Why not give Scooby Clinic a ring they are more than capable of carrying out this work for you at the right price. Good luck!
