I had exactly the same mid life crisis a couple of months ago so I traded my Citroen Xsara in for a Scooby, but I don't suppose that helps you much.

Hello

Isn't mid-life in your early forties?

I'm 34, and I thought I was just "normal" looking at young pretty girls ... !

Unhappy

I'm also 34 which makes at least 3 of us on this thread. 40s must be middle age nowadays.

Well i am 36 and single and i spend a lot of my time at the moment driving between jobs in central and west london and it is very hard to concentrate on the roads with all the attractive young ladies in their mini skirts.

If this indicates a mid life crisis we all better plan on retiring on the grounds of old age shortly!

in all seriousness mate You got it pretty good.
You've got enough money to buy a house. I dont.
You got yourself an other half which = sex on tap. I dont.
You got offspring. I dont.
You got a faster car than me!
Serious mate, you got all the ingredients for a happy life apart from the money troubles.
Lighten up and smell the roses mate, life aint all that bad.
drive home at top speed, bone yer missus, then play with your boy. Sorted.
astraboy.

on that basis I have 2 and a bit years before my mid life crisis, married 3 kids and very happy. I reckon most men either buy a tracksuit and take up jogging or buy a Motorbike, just depends on your means which you go for, I am preparing early by going to the gym which is mainly to letch (see below) but this has the happy by-product of getting me a bit fitter, I have a 125 motorbike until I summon up the funds and courage to take the test.

Looking at younger women, yep, older ones yep, fat ones thin ones, black ones white ones, even Danish one living in Paris if I get the chance, I like women cos they look better than blokes and have *****. Fairly simple equation based on my gender, nature requires me to impregnate women and provides them with physical cues that appeal to my more basic urges. It works I am happy with the deal AMEN !

I've kinda found myself going the other way. When I was 27 I bought a TVR S3, at that time I was going out a bit and, y'know, casting the eye about. Sold that and got an STi7. Had that for a year, now I've turned 30 and spend more time in, trying to off-load the scoob and am driving a P reg 406, and enjoying myself. I still have a quick glance at a nice young lady every now and then, but there's no intent there. The thought of having my first child in feb has really changed things for me. I would drive a mini metro if it meant more money for the house/kid etc.

Don't worry Propercharlie, that feeling will pass as you near the mid 30's mark
For gods sake don't sell your scooby just yet!

Thumbs up

chris; the plan is to save a bit of money by running a cheap car for a couple of years, and then buy a griffith or something like that as a "weekend" motor. I haven't told the expectant mother about that part of the arrangement yet!
