What people don't seem to understand about racism (you ******* **** ***** ***** ) is that it requires some sort of difference in power or status to exist. No-one would GAS about male only golf clubs if it wasn't for the fact that historically women were denied the vote, equal pay etc. The reason that it wouldn't be ok to have an Association of White Police Officers is that for many years *The Police Force* was an association of white police officers.
There's this thing called historical context...
Exactly.
Sometimes i wonder of the motives of people who ask these sort of questions.

Not saying they should be in the mens because people would obviously have a problem with that since we are all branded perverts but a communal one wouldn't be bad.
The world is far from equal or fair. Deal with it.

OK, I'll enlighten you: I would like to believe that we are all born equal, and should be treated as such.
HOWEVER: the two organisations I noted above, men only clubs, women only waiting rooms, and most adverts these days, offend me because they are NOT equal. No person should be disallowed from doing something allowed under the law of the land, simply because of their race, colour, sex etc. Nor should that person be mocked. Simple, innit, really??

I discriminate on the basis of me and my family, everybody else can sort themselves out, black, white whatever, anybody crosses me I deal with it, meantime everybody gets the benefit of the doubt, with the possible exception of Estate Agents.

but we arent are we.
im having a child tommorow- it will be a girl- it will be different to a boy born at the same time, it will also be different to a child born in a third world country.
maybe we should accept we are all born different and live with that rather than try to group us all together.

Just like the PC people at tennis events give the same prize money for the women who play best of 3 sets compared with best of 5 for the men! How the hell is that equality? Same pay for the same job i have no problem with but if my female colleague was getting the same pay for doing 3/5ths of the work/hours then i'd be p!ssed at that.

Curiously if I was going to choose a race to be racist against it would be white South Africans (the horrible ones) and I'm white. Figure that. It would still be racist but against my own?

The thing about being racist is that you are pre-judgeing somebody before you have met them based on what you think they should be like due to some trait that you think defines their race. This is what is so wrong.... if you were to treat that person as you would wish to be treated and then you find out that there are certain reason to not like them, then I can't see the problem with that. To lump everybody into groups on how you expect them to be, based purely on race is to me just pure stupidity!

fatherpierre,
yes and only by about 10% not 40% more. Other majors such as the US and Australian Opens pay the same, so i will re-phrase it to "most" tennis tournaments pay the same which is not right and can not be justified other than not wanting the womens libers on their back. In fact i've yet to meet a women that thinks they should get equal prize money for playing less sets.

At a basic level all the 'isms' come down to certain types of people.
People who hate.
People who don't care.
People who hate/dislike only when it affects them.
People who accept all types/kinds/etc (very rare)
Think of Monty Python with the Judean Peoples Front etc.
SPLITTERS!!

The terrorists arrested attempting to smuggle weapons and explosives into the country at Dover, originally thought to be British, have now been identified. They are in fact not British, they are muslims.
So come on Dave explain?????
been a muslim is a religion... been british is a legal title confirming a persons nationality
Also Dave forgets who he is sometimes and needs reminding.

Let me introduce you all to Luke
He's the one who thinks the 9/11 attacks were justified.
He calls religion, race.
He claims to be a law graduate.
He posts taunts and gets threads closed.
He is obsessed about men's genitalia.

I don't intend to share blame for having this thread closed, so go ahead with your childish taunts Luke, this is my final contribution to this topic.
No doubt your stupidity will re-emerge the very next time someone dares to disagree with your views.
