The only thing I know about the build is that it used the same pistons that Wallis and myself are using from LP.

I don't believe aps claims for a second.
every "fact" they have published seems to be fishy.
remember their graph of the cooling performance of their front mount, and their sr50 500bhp turbo?
trp however I do believe but I think you will find their quoted power is with nitrous, not just normal fuel.

TRP back up their claims with some stunning 1/4 mile times and terminal speeds If APS could perform some similar results then they would gain credibility in my opinion.

Right I am still none the wiser after 5 pages!!
I have got myself a scrap STI 6 motor (I think !!) and once I have found a closed deck block (You still haven't told me what year/ model they come from, or where to get one) I am going to be building it with a HKS stroker kit, and rod's of some description. Yes I know HKS aren't cheap, but they are to me!! ha ha. I will keep you all informed of my results once i have got it built.

not so,
cdbs can be had from most pre 94 wrxs.
Not easy to find.
I have access to a 2.2 cdb if you want one which you can stroke to 2.33.
Further to this, an hks stroker kit even at cost price is still going to cost you more than sourcing the bits from lateral performance.
You dont need their hks supplied crank, you can use a phase 1 ej25 crank, or even a phase 2 if you modify the block to suit.
rods and pistons from mark will be easily up to the job.

Adam,
Dare I say, your comment regarding HKS vs LP rods is a little unqualified, and I can understand Andy questioning it.
I've never seen an HKS rod, but I'm sure they're very good.
However, I can say that the rods that I supply, and the rods used in the 9.13sec' 1/4 mile Rigoli car are from the same manufacturer
Mark.

Adam, Andy, I agree with your comments re:the TRP cars proving themselves on there stunning quarter mile times, I also haven't seen any graphs or information as to any cars APS have competed with. Would be interesting to see if anybody has it?
Where do I source an EJ25 crank?

Too late to edit it Andy, the fuel has already been thrown on the fire LOL
I'm also going down the 2.5 litre route, what's the thought on JE pistons?
Do we know of any failures?

I'm currently in the process of having a 2.33 built from an EJ20 CDB. This will also include custom cams, valves/valve springs, ported heads etc. What you also have to budget for is things like ECU, injectors, turbo, FMIC, oil pump, fuel pump etc - the list goes on. It does start to get expensive, so I'll just have to drive it gently until I can afford to beef up the gearbox (don't know how a Type R V5 box will hold up)! Hoping car will be ready in a few weeks now.
