yep CostCo Watford, just been on phone to them, they have the Snooper S6R NEO instead of Origin i. Just take your voucher in & they'll do it for the same price as Origin i. Is the Snooper as good then ?
Popped into costco in Glasgow earlier. They don't have any B2 units in stock either (problems with getting them delivered from the manufacturers). They said they will be getting them in at some point and are taking orders. Was also offered the Snooper for same price.
I chacked the retail prices online and both appear to be similar in terms of RRP, little difference in subscriptions also. Was thinking of buying the snooper as it seemed very good spec and also in case they don't get the b2s in for some time. Havn't been able to find any real comprehensive tests or objective reviews on it though. Does anyone know how the two units compare ?
Ian
by the way I also noticed they had some of the older model b1's in stock (non laser) selling for £199.99 + VAT

I've been on the phone earlier to Costco and they will NOT be doing the Origin gear at all. They will only be doing the Snooper S6R for the same money though as others rightly point out...
Personally,I think they fcuked up with the Bluei as we all know that doesn't come with laser (They told me it had the B2 internals a while ago which I find a little hard to believe and probably the reason why they didn't end up selling the damn things!!
Ah well,I'm gonna do some research on the web now re the Neo cos I'm off to Costco tomorrow night to buy one if it's a good piece of kit.....

Only Snooper units at Chingford branch of Costco, the comments i have seen on BBS about this unit make me not so sure anybody got one? I havean Origin Bluei which was very unrealiable but they seem to have sorted this out at last and the unit is very good, thinking of upgrading to B2 if the price is right but don't see the point of going to the Snooper from what i have read. i already have a Bel990i so don't need to go back woulds with a snooper radar head.
I got the Snooper last night from Costco. My only reservation is that it has too many wires trailing from it for a neat transferable install(power and remote ariel stick out the side, would be better out the back IMHO)...my (now dead) original Morpheous was great because it was one wire and very small.
Anyway upside is the Snooper comes with a remote antenna so I can have it anywhere in the cockpit rahter than cluttering up the top of the dash
, and it has the under-bonnet mountable radar detector so can hide that away near the liscenceplate.
Snooper 'subscription' is £99 for 2.5 years on top of the £240.
Price is very good compared to RRP.

anyone got any comments on how good the snooper is ?
was going to get one of the b2's but seeing as a) Costco aren't doing them and b) I would then have to pay around 100 quid more than the snooper I can't now make me mind up.
any of you other costco members know the score on returning goods ?
IIRC can't you get a refund on anything you don't like after however long you like as long as you are still a member ?
Cheers,
Chris

am a costco member, and have seen the snooper.
would still have bought the b2.
no unreliability issues at all. much smaller unit. laser detector goes inside on windscreen and is very small. completely unnoticable behind rear view mirror. also remote aerial, but unit itself is far smaller and easier to mount. Is also switchable between cars.
And it only warns you if you are speeding! which is bloody useful.

Just one thing re the laser sensor , I originally had mine behind the rear view mirror , went thru 3 traps and it never went off once . The sensor seems to work as I tested it with the IR on my mobile phone so I can only assume that it was the positioning causing a problem . I ahe now moved it to the bottom of the windscreen and await my next testing session with plod

Guys,
Can you answers these few questions -
1. Does the costco deal come with RLD attachment?
2. As a laser diffuser cannot be linked up to it, this would have to be a separate system, ie own LEDs, alerts if I wanted to add it in the future - true?
3. Does anyone know of a decent installer in the London area as don't want to chance messing it up myself
4. Is the control panel/alert screen removable like a face off stereo? Will it fit in a stereo size hole?
5. How does it update? via aieral from GPS I presume - so what is the 4.95 a month for? Do I have to remove it to be able to plug it into my telephone socket?
6. Will they repeat the deal in your opinion?
cheers, Adam

Adam M - the S6 can also be set to only annoy you if your current speed is in excess of the speedlimit whilst you approach the camera...I agree thats a useful function as the old Morpheous was a pain.
Laser detector unit on the S6 can go on the windscreen, where admittedly it would be a bit of an eyesore, but much more importantly it can also go down behind the grill near the liscence plate - exactly where the laser will be pointed, so I ignored the size of it.
Size is an issue though, the S6 is deep, a couple inches, but with remote ariel it will be hidden away anyway
Whatever, my decision was based on the price, £240 hard to turn down
Adam 555, hiya mate.
1 - This is the S6-R so yes it comes with the RLD attachment.
2 - No idea
3 - Nope, sorry, this only applies to hard wiring though so you can take your time finding one, the electrics are very simple so any decent garage/hifi fitter could sort it though.
4 - Yes it is removeable, I think it is narrow enough to fit in a single din, can check tonight...will probably stick it on my second din.
5 - Updates via ariel, this is an old 50p sized unit on a cable so can be installed on dash, or , for example, on rear parcel shelf. The £4.95 a month (or £99 upfront for 2 years, saving £18.80
) pays for your subscription to the gatso site database...you take the unit from it's bracket and plug it straight into a phoneline to update. Theoretically you get the first 6 months free, so that £99 covers the first 2.5 years.
The unit has wires sticking out of the sides so a neat 'flush install' will be tricky I feel.
6 - I very much doubt they'll repeat it. If you want one and can get hold of a coupon we can go down there later this week...I couldn't find any coupons last night but can ask around for you..have many neighbors driving fiestas who probably have a coupon but dont want one.

Bargin for the R6. I have one and it is very good and has not missed a camera yet. Don't know how good the laser bit is yet so can't say about that. Very easy to fit...I've got the main unit on the right of the dash and the other bit on the left side.
That price is amazing...I paid £420 for mine so go for it I say.

You do need to be a member of Costco before you can go in.I got my Snooper last night from there and lucky for me my nieces hubby is a member!!
Vouchers shouldn't really be a problem cos I went to the Haydock one last night and they had tons of booklets in a box and the woman gave me a voucher for Mach 3's that were on offer.Ask and ye shall receive normally works!! lol
