AFAIK, the only thing you can do with an MY97 is get a Prodrive ECU, get a Power Engineering Phase 1 remap OR add APEXI/HKS/Blitz piggy back modules or ditch the stock ECU and go for a Link/GEMS/Motec etc..etc...

Question

ive got a my96 wrx v-limited,u say pre 96 is mine ok.Also how many of these hae been fitted?its a fraction of the cost of any other ecu upgrade......im most intrigued[i take it u just fit the chip and dont need it setting 2 the individual car like most ecu upgrades]?

Probably fine. Your car may have a Z4, Z5 or 7K ECU (or something very similar). Mail me for more details.

David fitted one of these to my MY96 Series McRae about 8 months ago, and i am still grinning
I don't know if it uses more fuel or it is smoother all I can say is that the scenery becomes a blurr quicker
