hi guys time to set the record straight our impreza was dyno'd at well lane,it ran 505bhp at the flywheel.this run is posted on scoobynets dyno page (well lanes).the car started out as a sti v4 coupe.the early runs at crail its first outing were run with the low jap spec gearing hence the low 13sec runs,it now runs uk spec turbo gearing and diff we are still not happy with this and are about to order a tony rigoli dog box with new ratios.at santapod on oct 12th jap performance day we were the fastest impreza there running the 1/4 in 11.939 1.091 reaction time at 115.09 mph.the engine was built in our workshops!! not purchased in japan and has not been run with nos injected into the engine only used on the intercooler to cool the charge.i hope this sets the record straight.we are a small scottish garage who enjoy modifing fast cars (look out next year for our new skyline pick-up 900bhp,and our soon to be tested new supra 900bhp,and our mk 1 escort 4wd cossie 560 bhp)

Maybe fuel it properly to stop the black reek pumpin out the back (knockhill last month) Also "low jap spec gearing" which have a choice of final drive ratios-3.9 4.1 4.4- would give a faster 1/4mile time than the uk turbo 2000 which has a final drive ratio of 3.6 The car looks the part but needs a bit of real world tuning Are you willing to release the spec on the car or not please do

Alex,

Nice try m8, there couldn`t`ve been many decent scoobs at the Jap performance day if a 115 terminal clinched the top scoob (see earlier posts) an whats this about
we are a small scottish garage who enjoy modifing fast cars
no sympathy votes here m8 Most of us are on a real budget (well under 5K) an still get decent numbers without our own workshops
BTW tell George I was askin for him.

pete,

get him signed up for your rolling road day.I would like to see what a 505bhp well lane, does at star, if it is in the same state of tune.

I have to say that if the car is under development should we not give them a chance.

moses I take it your car is going to come straight out with decent numbers then?

Just wondered if any of the tuning packages for the CRD cars are available to the public yet? A mate running an FTO has given up waiting on the 'development' (no not markyboy's FTO, another one).

The CRD car of note for me was the Supra at Knockhill, but if you cant put the power down to the dark grey stuff then its lost already (and nearly did to a mk2 XR2!!).

On saying this - good seeing someone from CRD actually come on and pick the thread up.

Ermm...i've got to sidle with CRD here and no i don't know them, never heard of them or whatever, but if they achieved the 500+ result at Well Lane and the operators of the rolling road confirmed it was a "true" result, then surely they are entitled to claim it, if it's based on expectations of modifications carried out.

CRD
Re: first post in this thread. If it's true you stated it's a secret, then some established members on this board (myself included) can be sceptical of any high power claims, due to experience with Subaru's over the past 4-5 years.
I can see no reason why secrecy should prevail bearing in mind, to achieve the output you claim will require a customer with a healthy bank balance, whereas us mere mortals can only improve our cars as and when funds permit.
Would it not be better to explain and be more open how the figures have been achieved to allow customers to aspire and budget towards what could be an achievable goal?

nice to see i get a mention..... im the new owner of Barry's evo 7 it is 270bhp@wheels at AVA in Glasgow make up your own flywheel figs as you see fit! (it is also for sale if anyone is interested )Was giving it a little bit of stick at Crail but not that much...managed a 13.04...respectable for my first ever time running up there.

As for the CRD Scooby i aint in a position to talk about the spec, but i have been in it, and i was at Santa Pod for the ultimate Jap Car day and I have to say it is definately capable of faster times than it is currently showing.

The 11.9 was a good run, but however was not perfect as it struggles getting off the line.

Keep your eyes peeled...im sure it is going to do the business very, very soon

Fraz - I acceapt that sometimes 500 bhp will be difficult to put down BUT Kev sharp cossie with 500 bhp + a bit of nitrous does ten second quarters (10.7 ish?) spinning the wheels on the line and he doesn't get moving off the line until he's in second!

Anyhow, who want 500 bhp in a subaru if it can't put the power down?

Russell (sticking with rebuilt 400 bhp with Kazz diffs and PAR G/Box)

Surely PETE'S Scooby shotout at Star will be the place to prove who has the quickest scoobys (on paper)
I for one will be there to prove that A W D 'S Black catalunya U K car has a good 300+bhp
I put a R A geared box on my car this year for crail and it made the car slower by a second the u k box is better
And Dave's race car has big plans for the winter break.
He done very well this year at crail being the most consistant fastest car i for one was well imprested with both car and drivers performance.

Think i will be eating my own words in this post. Crd are starting to prove there figures. 11.9 is certainly alot better than when i first seen it run but it still aint the fastest in the UK.

Question

CRD

Like Alan, I am also a sceptic and for the same reasons.
Ontop of which wasn`t the main purpose of this board (from the days of old) as a common meeting place for likeminded enthousiasts to swap experiences & expand the knowledge base of the subaru comunity ? So again
Would it not be better to explain and be more open how the figures have been achieved to allow customers to aspire and budget towards what could be an achievable goal?
Or alternatively as Grant pointed out
Surely the Scooby shootout at Star will be the place to prove who has the quickest scoobys (on paper)
I`m sure if you would like a run on the day we could fit the car in (providing you pickup the tab for your run) An why didn`t any of u come over 4 a gas on Sataurday night ? Wasn`t that u guys I saw in the Matalan carpark @ the Dundee cruise ?

Alan, BTW u shoulda been a politician

Well Lane V1 result a couple of weeks ago was 533bhp and 419ft/lbs.
Scooby Shootout.Winner with 11.74/119mph and 170.7mph. Both of these results, speeds and times, have been marginally beaten by Andy Forest in a less powerful but lighter Scoob.
Previous R.R. ten days before amd a bit of midnight oil in between was 501bhp/396ft/lbs.
