Beefy,
I couldn't keep up the other day. Kept losing my bottle, which I think CW42 had stolen from me! He had a bit of the devil in him!

Beefy, sounds like you had a great time at the vauxhall open day, does anything you tried translate to the scooby?
Thursdays run was excellent, and sorry you had to miss it, although the next one should be just as good, as the yorks crew will be picking the route this time!
I didn't really see much of steelx's mad driving, as I was at the back or near the back most of the time, but from all accounts, he was a loon! hehe.
I was behind gav from the carpark after edale, and he left me dead, then when we got onto the main road after sparrowpit, I saw him dissapear off into the night, overtake a car and he was gone. Caught up when we all had to slow for the lorry, just before the roundabout on the A6.
I started off really well on thursday, and I was flying up the snake, sorry about that pete, but I was really on one, and after only being up there on sunday, the road was still fresh in my mind, hehe.
As for the hi-fi, it was a big hobby of mine a few years ago, and I don't really need to buy anything else for it now, just software: I have around 200 dvd's and about 400 cd's, + some old Laserdiscs.
Hope you can pop round for a viewing one day,
later,
chris.

gav, bit of a problem! even zipped up, the file size is 3meg for this email!
I will have a go at putting some on my site this afternoon, and you can copy them off there.
These are the full size files of course, if you just want the smaller versions I post on scoobynet, then copy and paste them off there,
chris.

lol everyones getting their topics mixed up
Chris (re: trackday and whether it will benefit the scoob driving).
There are certain aspects that are transferable but the VX's were a little bit "go-kartish" in their handling and alot lighter than the scooby therefore they felt much more point and go. The steering was very well weighted and felt very good - better than the scoob IMO.
The VX220 is rear wheel drive but seemed to have excellent grip despite no 4WD, it also has a chassis that gives you a supreme amount of feedback when cornering. They are also very quick (similar performance to my PPP'd WRX) but had zero turbo lag so pulled right through the range making them feel faster.
Probably of the most benefit was the advanced driving lesson as far as day to day driving is concerned - I am now looking for someone to give me some advanced lessons as it should make for safer progress. This was brought home to me when we heard some of the stories the instructors had to tell!
Overall then not much benefit as the 2 cars are so different and track-day driving is a world apart from normal day to day stuff. I would say hopefully some lessons on the road should improve my driving at speed more than the day did.

cheers beefy, it sounds like I need to speak to Terry Andrew, and see if he is willing to take our little group under his wing for a while. I already asked him on thursdays run with the yorkies, but he had other commitments, but he did say he would come out soon with us, sounds promising.
Who would be up for a bit of expert tuition in fast car driving?
Let me know, and then I can tell him how many would be interested.
Now steel has the other forum up and running,(have you logged on yet?) it might be a good idea to switch over to there, so as not to attract the wrong type of interest for the group.
We now have the EVO TRIANGLE, THE TRACKDAY, ADVANCED DRIVING + THE TRACK DAY IN ANGLESEY.
phew we're a busy lot eh?
chris.

I was on holiday in Edale on Thursday. All I can say is WOW what a surprise to see so many Scooby's go past. Only wish I could have got to the road quick enough to give you all a wave as you zoomed past.

As long work does'nt get in the way im up for anything chris, just let me know the date and price and you can count me in buddy.
You need a medal for what you do chris and every one who helps you, it makes owning a scooby even better and im sure other's would agree.

Thanks for the compliment blitz, but I couldn't do anything without all you guys coming along.
It did occur to me yesterday actually, what did we all do before we got together? It wasn't until I got the scooby, and came on scoobynet, that I really started going out socially driving. When I had my Fiat Bravo HGT, I would just go for a drive some evenings, never speaking to anyone, never stopping in some lay-by to regroup and have a laugh! Now though, that has all changed, and we have a tight little network of mates to call on and share our experiences with.
So a big thankyou from me to all the South Manchester Scooby Owners, you are what has made this group possible.
Gav, your a cheeky git, and your gonna get a slap
On another note, what are you all doing this wednesday? The offer of a get together here at my house is still open, or are you all going out driving?
I could just imagine the look on the neighbours faces when you lot all pull in to the cul-de-sac, hehe. They already have complained about my exhuast!
Hope to see you all soon,
chris

It looks like I might be about Wednesday night. I'm off camping (in fact we're about to leave now but I blagged a quick check of Scoobynet before we leave ). I've got to come back Wednesday 'cos I'm at Harewood for the Hillclimb Driving School on Thursday.
Anyway I'll be offline until Wednesday so if somethings happening then post it and I'll do my best to make it. See you all soon.
