See you between 8 and 8:30 then, no worries,

No worries there dan, I'm charging the batteries up tonight. I'm thinking of mounting it on the outside of the car for that climb, should be awesome.
For those of you who havn't seen it yet, this is what it looks like when mounted on the car, from different angles:

5mins 11seconds long,16.7mb file, I hope you like Peter Gabriel!

Hi lads!

Great drive tonight, went really smooth considering how many of us there were AND it was dry so that was a bonus (give me a chance to try my new tyres or wreck them lol). I look forward to the next meet and hope we see the south yorks boys again soon.

Even got the turbo glowing (nice).

Excellent drive out. Blew a few cobwebs away that did.

Blitz: Glowing turbo - LOL that was cool.

"Good job we were following you, you knew where you were going..."

"Errr....I've never been down this road before..."

LOL :-)

Great fun!

About 10:30 tonight it must have been you guys on the final descent (plus biker!) of that infamous road. I was on my way home from a wicked 5 days in Scotland. We passed on the final twisties - rather dark, fast and misty but you may have spotted me (silver with highrise spoiler). Was that you CW in the lead

About 10.30 half of us headed into macc from the top of c+f then the other half (yorkshire scoobys) headed back into Buxton and Back to Yorks which half of us did you see.

Amazing drive through Edale.Air born on the snake!!!! And fun over Long Hill. Next time the Yorks Lads will have to show us some roads.

It'll have been the S Mancs/Maccs lot then (would have heard you coming, but had music on rather loud)

Get yourselves up to the Highlands sometime Just done 1700 miles since Sunday scenery and roads off this planet... but go out of tourist season. Will be posting some pics ASAP, not that they really capture how awesome the trip was.

If a Sport is welcome, I'll join you guys sometime. Wouldn't want to slow you down tho'

I'm glad to hear you all had a great time, by far the best bit for me was the vale of edale. I have made a short movie of it, not the whole thing as it took over 9 minutes to get along!
The file is 23 mb big, so I hope you have broadband at home, and runs on REALPLAYER (sorry if you haven't got that, but it is a quick free download)
vale of edale
Also, here are a few pics of the nights fun, first the Snake Pass Inn, otherwise known as "gnat bite alley" (my legs are itching like mad today!)

then we have the 1st of 3 frames from the film I took, so not the best quality, but you get the idea, this one was taken along the edale road, not long after we had set off

this one was on the esses, up the climb out of edale, chinking left, right, left, with a big grin on my face.....

and finally, a night shot of us all heading along the road to sparrowpit, how many scooby tail lights can you spot?

All in all, a great night, thanks for the attendance of the MAD south yorks crew. As madscientist pointed out, you lot are a bad influence on us!! hehe
As for the next one CHEESY, the 3rd of September sounds good to me, back to our usual wednesday night, I will leave the route to you this time eh?
See you all again really soon, hopefully I will have stopped itching by then!

chris

gav, maybe your media player is not set to play real player files, have a look under the options, and "check" all media.
I think I will put the camera on the back window next time, and film into the cockpit, so I can see how fast I was going, I didn't get a chance to look at my speedo at the time!
thanks for the comments guys, I can't make it out this wednesday, the wife is on a late, anyone fancy a film round my place, and a few beers instead?? (fast and furious 1 maybe?)
I do have a 7' screen and projector with a dts/dolby digital surround sound system with 10 speakers!

I did the "vale of Edale" on the way home from work. Loads of tourists walkers cars and pushbikes. How did we get such a clear run that night or did steelx knock every body out of the way? I even caught up to a bus, imagine that if we had meet it on thurs night

I see the reputation of SteelX as a maniac continues after the latest run out! I reckon we're going to have to have Steel, gav and mad up front while the rest (myself included!) try and keep up.

Glad you had a good run out last week. I had a superb day at Palmersport in Bedford driving the VX turbos - christ those things are fantastic track day weapons! I managed to win the slalom competition (by just 2 only tenths of a second) and set the equal best time of 82 seconds (although the timing was unofficial and done by the instructor) on the track.

The "On-track" experience was superb and I can recommend Palmersport and the staff who were absolutely superb all day (9-6pm so a long day). All the drivers got pushed well beyond the limit and there was some superb spinning action.

Heres what we got to do:

Off-road Frontera driving
Brake testing with/without ABS (good fun)
Slalom course and parking test
Vectra skid-pan
Smooth driving test (with a ball on the bonnet in a bowl!)
Advanced driving lesson in an Astra Coupe
3 sessions on the West track in the VX220 turbos (superb)

It was a brilliant day all round. Hope to see you all soon for another drive out. I cant make this week as I'm off camping for a few days up in Derbyshire so hopefully see you next week.

Forgot to mention, chris that is an impressive AV setup (/me goes green with envy at feeble 28" screen and 5.1! ) I would be well up for watching F&F or something similar at some point once I'm back from holiday and when youre next looking after the kids. We'll try and set something up for the coming weeks if youre about.
