Cool

swa,

No problem mate. You have to do them up to "just-right" tightness. That's the tightness you get just between "not-tight-enough" and "too-tight", obviously, this is before "too-tight-by-far" and "oh-my-god-I-killed-my-wheelnut-stud-!-you-barsteward!" tightness!

(IIRC it's actually ~80 [thingys], can't remember if [thingys] are lb ft or nm though, sorry.)

PS: Your locking wheelnuts may require a different torque setting to the normal nuts. I suspect you don't want to tighten them as much, as this can risk breaking the locking mechanism. Check the instructions for the lockers.

Swa,

You got your daft answer then.

Just a semi-serious point here. Years ago I had locking wheel nuts on the car, after quite a long period of time I have to remove the wheels....change brake pads or something, only to find that the locking wheel nut sleeve had fused to the metal of the wheel nut making removal almost impossible. A pair of mole grigs and tin of spinach required to remove. It may be worthwhile regularly lubricating your nuts (oh errr).

Max

PS - If you have a dog you could train it to p1ss on each wheel on a regular basis, but this may not work I probably need more Scoobie technical advise on this one.

Hey Markus, so you have trouble with your nuts!!!! I doubt that I would have trouble with them, but then I am a woman and have expertise in this field.

I think SusyQ does have knowledge of Markus' nuts......I think she's his girlfriend!

I followed the clues, ie. previous postings, her e mail addy, his website etc......

Thanks for keeping us all amused Markus

Anyway a bloke your size can post what ever he likes can't he?

This is Phill's wife by the way.....hmmm I wonder if anyone would spot if I registered!
