Anti Social Behaviour
Article on BBC Midlands news last night about an 8 year old boy who has twice mugged female OAPs.
Apparently 10 years old is the age at which individuals can be held responsible for criminal acts.
It's about time someone began a political party that relied on popular support for real action in this country: Anti-Scoial Behaviour, Asylum/Immigration, Education, Health-Service, General Law & Order... A political party where the representatives give straight answers to straight questions and aren't afraid to tell people that things might cost more if they explain how the money would be spent.
...This could actually be achieved via the internet...Hmmmm...

Yo Leslie.... well said, took the words right out of my mouth. Where are the days when kids used to have all round respect? Mine do and they are in their early 20's, I've just become a grandma and I dearly hope Max is brought up to be respectful too.
I dread to think where all this will end. These troublesome teens are the adults of tomorrow...gawd forbid !

well tellboy as i said in the seatbelt thread i dont agree with the fines i do wear my seatbelt sometimes but i dont feel i should be forced to wear it my kids wear theirs voluntarily and thats their choice but they do not go about terrorising the neibourhood they know right from wrong.
no i dont believe in forcing them to do things they always have a choice they decide where their life goes not me or you or anyone else thats whats wrong with kids nowadays everything is done for them.
my sons can change wheels, starters, radiators can name most parts of a car can service their own mountain bikes, know how to wire a plug, can cook, can do their own washing etc etc

Young teenage kids used to be a menace round my area, until while cleaning the car they decided it'd be fun to use water pistols the 'help out' (ie. squrt the car when I'm no looking). After I told them to not do it twice I challenged them to a water gun fight.
£4.99 water gun vs a Karcher pressure washer with the 'cement-blaster' attachment isn't much contest really

Pugeotru.
Sounds like you have done a good job with them then. Thats how it should be and you must be proud of them.
I agree that they should be free to decide what they want to do in life. That is very important, you have guided their lives during their formative years. My parents did not try to influence my choice in occupation when I entered the wide world and I appreciated that.

Leslie, you're totally right of course. No-one would disagree with what you've said.
But, unless i'm misunderstanding this, Pugeotru is selective in which laws he believes his kids should respect, and those, such as the seatbelt law, which he thinks it is ok for them to disregard if they so choose.
That, in my opinion, is not great parenting...
