thats half the bleedin problem with this country at the moment , as soon as people start having an opinion somebody says oooh didn't mean to upset anyone !! well i think it's about time we said what is bugging us about the whole situation .
well buddy we have a girl with a thai boyfriend here and nobody bats an eyelid and racism does exist here as well, as in welsh / english, so don't think you have the monopoly on it , or does that not count ?.

That's bloody appalling about Sweden, Henrik.

The day i can't walk down an English city street with a Union Jack/St George's Cross, if i so choose, would be a very sad day indeed.

Has Sweden got to that point because it has to pander to a large group of immigrant Turks?

 

I don't actually know why it's gotten so bad. I personally think it's down to stupid politicians, trying to be overly politically correct. I mean, of course no one should deliberately try to **** some other group off, but I don't see how singing a national anthem or having a flag does that

The real problem is (imho, of course) that Sweden accepted lots and lots of asylum seekers up until a few years back, but never bothered to help integrating them into society. Everyone was basically sent to live in suburbs and most were put on the dole (equivalent), or atleast they were concentrated to one part of the towns/cities where they live. This lead to the Swedish people moving away from those areas, and now we have areas in Stockholm for example where 98% are foreigners Because virtually everyone is unemployed, of course the kids will be a bit dissappointed with life in general, and might cause trouble with other kids (the rich bitches ) and then that lead to most people regarding the whole situation as "us against them" (i.e foreigners think that all Swedes are a bunch of weirdos, and the other way around).

The following is of course my very personal opinion, and it might be wrong, but I don't feel scared here when I see a group of 'foreigners' in a pub/club where as in Sweden, I'd be very cautious, because I've seen too many fights in Swedish clubs between Swedes and foreigners 'over nothing' (basically, racism, but both ways).

From what I've seen so far, England has succeeded *far* better integrating asylum seekers, imo.

Of course, all the above are my personal opinions
