West Yorkshire/Huddersfield area meet - anyone interested?

Have you booked for TOTB II then?
And will you be taking part?
I went to the meet at Elvington last Sunday and had a fab day out
- really enjoyed it
I'm a bit undecided about TOTB II though
as you've to buy spectator tickets in advance and they're 15 quid each
would be a good day out I know but what about the British weather?
Don't reckon it'll be upto much if the weather's rubbish???

People are dropping like flys, come on lets have some replacements for those that have to work to keep their fine beasts in Optimax. I am sure there are more than 10 scoobies within 10 miles of the Fenay Bridge.
Anyway is the general concensus to have food or just a large quantity of non alcoholic food in the beer garden?
How about trying to arrange a run later this year? We could arrange to run up through some of Yorkshires best roads and meet one of the other groups for an extended run? Anyone with any suggestions please make them known on the night.
I will call via RN Goldens this afternoon and leave a poster advertising the meet. Lets see if that gets the numbers up.
See you all there

Count me in on the scran front - and a swift half of ginger beer in the beer garden!
I'd also be up for an extended run, later in the year. Let's get this one moving, then do some planning.

Yeah, don't drive it weekdays anymore since changing job last September. I work in Stoke-on-Trent now and do the 160 mile a day round trip in a company Golf TDI (150bhp model tho )
So the Scoob only gets to come out and play on weekends...
Really pi55ed about missing this, was looking forward to it, but hopefully there will be others. Tip, don't arrange one for exactly a month later, as i'll probably be working cr4p shifts again.

Would definately recommend TOTB II mate.... I was at Elvington last weekend as well, and that was very tame compared with what machinery you will see on August 3rd. The big boys did not come out to play last weekend.
When you see the likes of Rocket Ronnie set off from a standing start, engine bouncing off the rev limiter and then dropping (really dropping) the clutch. Truly amazing. I kid you not, it sounds like a jet aircraft pulling away. And I understand that there some other Skylines in attendance which are putting out as much bhp if not more than his.
Better still, if it rains, the scoobs will still be out playing on the handling circuit As they did last year....
Sadly, my 310bhp STI is simply never going to be a worthy contender for TOTB. Tuning at this level is not my thing!! Well, maybe just a little... But if the Scooby contingent pull off there builds in time, I think the Subaru name may well, appear higher up the list, in greater numbers, than they did last year.
All in all, I wouldn't miss it for the world...
Cheers all

If your comming at 9.00... Then maybe 8:59!
He he.. Not fair MG as I don't even know you!
Me? Closing time or when everyone else has gone. Usually find people drift away earlyish if the meet is going slow and the weather too crap to go outside and look at the cars .... Otherwise it's a lock-in!

Hi guys, not got a Scoob yet but I'd love to come and join in the fun and pick a few brains. Finances are looking good for joining the fun proper before too long so I'm looking for advise on mods/importing/insurance/theft protection. Hoping to buy a new WRX within the year, but for now I'll be showing up in my ancient VW, but I promise not to spoil your photos by parking amongst your P&Js.

Hi COrradoboy. Am I right in guessing that the 'ancient' VW is none other than a Corrado??? If so, I'm a huge fan!
Used to have a VR6 (reg was M1 VRG). What a wonderful car.... I can still hear that narrow angle V6. Used to send a tingle down my spine.
Was heartbroken when the lease was up, and VW didn't see fit to replace/update it. What a daft marketing decision. If they had though, I probably wouldn't have discovered the joys of Scoobying....
